The Property

  • Atmosphere

PENDORIC is a smart and well presented house situated on Crescent Rise in the heart of Constantine Bay. It occupies an enviable corner plot, with large front and back gardens. Pendoric is easy walking distance to Trevose Golf and Country Club, while the beach at Constantine is 10 minutes walk away. It has distant seaviews, towards Harlyn and towards Trevose Head.

The house itself has enjoyed significant refurbishment and redecoration in 2011, providing a comfortable and happy place to stay. The furnishings are neutral but with stylish and high quality touches. The deep blue Aga and striped sofas set the tone.

  • Sleeping

There are 3 bedrooms at Pendoric. The master bedroom looks out over the large lawn and seaviews at the front of the property. It is spacious and comfortable, with a king-sized double bed and large built-in wardrobe. It has its own carpeted ensuite shower room.

Next door is the second room, with comfortable twin beds. Again, it is carpeted, with a large wardrobe, but with views out over the rear terrace. The main family bathroom is off this bedroom.

The third room is a bunk room – but nicely arranged with the split bunk beds, being at right-angles to each other. Shelves within the frame of the bed provide storage.

  • Bathrooms

Pendoric’s main family bathroom is situated off the 2nd double room. It has a steel bath with attractive blue-green tiles around the bath and basin.

The ensuite shower room is also good sized, and provides a separate shower cubicle and powerful shower, loo, basin and painted towel rail.

There is also a large cloakroom off the hall. It has a huge, shelved airing cupboard – very useful and luxurious!

  • Living and Dining

The main living space of Pendoric is airy and open plan. The sitting room is carpeted and has an open fire as centerpiece to the room, with a large wooden-framed mirror over. Striped armchairs, sofa and matching curtains provide a very clean and contemporary feel.

The far end of the room opens out to the dining room. A sturdy oak table and seating for 8 dominate the room, while a matching sideboard lines the wall.

  • Kitchen

The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped. There is ample worksurface, and good quality wood kitchen units, while the floor is tiled. The aga will not be on during the summer – there is a new electric cooker for 2012 - the photos still show the old one. There is also a fridge/freezer and microwave, and a Siemens washing machine and Bosch dish-washer.

French windows also provide access to the sunny back terrace, and open up the whole house making a great atmosphere on warm evenings.

  • Facilities

As well as washing machine and dishwasher, Pendoric has full oil central heating and wireless broadband.

Outside

Pendoric enjoys a very favourable plot, with three separate parts to the garden – great fun for children. There is a small lawned area by the entrance, but the main lawn is to the north of the property. It is plenty large enough for ball games, and slopes gently away leading your gaze towards the seaviews in the distance. Well stocked and tended flower beds provide colour and interest.

The garden leads round to the rear of the property, past two garden sheds, and a very useful outside shower and Belfast sink. The terrace area is round here – facing to the south-west for perfect afternoon sun-bathing and evening dining alfresco. There is garden furniture and a barbecue.

The road nearby is quiet, with Pendoric at the end of a small cul-de-sac allowing peace of mind for children. There is also a private gate that leads out towards the St Merryn-Constantine road, and provides quick pedestrian access to the golf course.

Nearby

Pendoric is located on Crescent Rise, accessed from the lane into Constantine from St Merryn, or via the dusty road opposite Constantine Bay Stores. Trevose Golf Club is minutes walk away, providing access to the most spectacular golf course, tennis, swimming as well as a thriving bar and restaurant available to all. The well-stocked Constantine Bay Stores is also minutes walk away, with a range of quality goods that should allow you to avoid your car and the supermarket for quite a while on your stay. Des’ surf-shop next door will ensure you are well-informed and well-equipped to enjoy the wonderful beaches and surf on your doorstep – whether you wish to buy or rent your wetsuits and boards, or just have your first surf lesson.

The beach at Constantine can be reached down the beach road past the shops, or down a small footpath from the corner of the golf club and along the edge of the golf course. The path emerges in the middle of the fantastic dunes at the top of the beach after less than 10 minutes walk.

St Merryn is the nearby village providing pubs and shops, as well as a number of restaurants including Rosel and Co for a very special dining evening. Padstow is only 10 minutes drive away -with its array of boutique shopping and gourmet food.
