  • Atmosphere

The Ridings is a spacious and individually furnished property in the centre of Trevone - near the farmshop and the Well Parc pub. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is bright throughout, with individual art and furniture in most rooms. The hall is broad and makes the whole house feel large and plenty able to cope with 2 families. The house is largely decorated in white with stripped wood floors. At the back there is a private and sheltered terrace which enjoys the sun throughout most of the day; while at the front a good-sized lawn area is good for ball games. The house feels special with its 4 sets of large sliding doors really opening up the house to the coastal atmosphere at every opportunity - and the sea views appearing from different parts of the house and garden.

  • Sleeping

There are 4 bedrooms at The Ridings. The master bedroom is on the left on entering the house, and looks out through the sun room at the front of the property. It has an Eastern feel, with an Indian wall hanging above the white-washed wooden bed and interesting light shades. It also has a large antique armchair, an attractive desk and a big wardrobe for your use. It has its own ensuite - the bathroom suite is still of a heritage turquoise colour, but the bath is big, with a usable shower over with shower curtain.

The 2nd bedroom is further down the hall, and has a 4ft 6in double bed, white wardrobe and a chest of drawers with a mirror on top. There are distant sea views from this bedroom, as you look out over the front lawn. There are then 2 twin rooms both accessed off the hallway. The first has twin white wooden frame beds, 2 chests of drawers, a wall hung mirror and a lamp with a large wicker shade. The large window looks out over the terrace. The 2nd twin room also has white wooden frame beds, along with an art deco chest of drawers and a large fitted wardrobe.

  • Bathrooms

The family bathroom leads off from the central part of the hall. It has a good-sized bath with electric shower over and shower curtain, while the walls are furnished with 'tongue and groove' paneling. There is a basin, but no loo - which is located in the downstairs cloakroom just round the corner - again finished with attractive 'tongue and groove' paneling. The 2nd bathroom is the ensuite off the main bedroom. The suite is retro turquoise - but the bath is large and comfortable and the shower, fed from the taps, works OK. There is also a loo and basin.

  • Living

The living room is alive with colour - from the soft furnishings but also from bright and interesting art, all set off by the large sliding doors out to the garden and the stripped wooden floors. There is a large 3 seater sofa, a 2 seater spacious leather sofa, as well as a particular wide armchair providing most of the comfortable seating. A smart TV is here as well as a broad sideboard full of , books and games. There are also more books from the attractive large bookcase in the hall. There is also a wood burner in the sitting room, for making the house cosy all year round.

The sunroom, at the front of the house, also serves as a great room to sit and relax - with the large sliding doors open to the breezes and view.

  • Kitchen and Dining

The kitchen/dining room is large with plenty of space to cook while friends relax around the large wooden table or out on the sunny terrace. The units are modern and there is plenty of preparation space on the granite worktop. There are 2 sets of large sliding doors out onto the terrace, which really open the whole room up to the terrace area and is particularly fantastic on warm evenings, where you can choose to eat outside or eat 'just inside'. There is a gas hob and oven as well as an under-counter fridge (a larger fridge/freezer is next door in the utility) and a fitted dishwasher. The wooden table has a long wooden bench down one side and plenty of wooden chairs - providing plenty of seating for meals. Or you can sit at the stools around the wooden topped 'pier'! The kitchen has a Roberts DAB radio and River Cafe and Stein cookbooks - perfect for Italian seafood eaten under the stars!

  • Facilities

Off the kitchen is a good sized utility room, with a large fridge/freezer, washing machine and separate tumble dryer and a microwave. The utility is useful with a large counter top - and ensures that you can store your washing or supplies out of the kitchen and out of the way.

There is gas central heating at The Ridings as well as wireless broadband. There is a very useful outside shower on the back terrace.

  • Outside

The front garden has a good area of lawn, good for some ball games or relaxation, with attractive borders all round. The drive has plenty of space for 3 cars.

Round the back of the house though is the sheltered, sunny and private terrace. It has large raised borders filled with shrubs and plants, while the main terrace area enjoys a large table for outside seating. the outside shower is also here.

  • Nearby

The Ridings is situated in the middle of Trevone - a hundred yards from the Well Parc pub with its amazing terrace views and pool, and a short walk from the Trevone farmshop for bread and newspapers daily. You can quickly walk down to the the main sandy beach, or the rather wonderful Newtrain beach, with its rock pools and natural swimming pool. Or go on round to the lovely sandy bays towards Harlyn -  a good place to find cowries.

The beach shop is well equipped with surf and wetsuit rental , and perfect for a morning coffee while you read the papers. There is cafe eating at lunchtime or supper in season all out on the great terrace behind the beach - all with an easy walk home. The Padstow Farmshop is also only a few minutes drive away - with full butchers shop and the freshest of delicious vegetables.

Padstow is only 5 minutes drive away, with shopping, boat trips and superb eating. Rick Stein's restaurants are always worth booking, while Jamie Oliver is only 15 minutes drive to Watergate Bay. The airport at Newquay is 15 minutes. Walking is wonderful in both directions along the coast path.

Everything lovely, as usual, and we all love the feel of this property – very homely.

Stayed: 10th Jun 2023

As always we enjoyed our stay at the Ridings.  Thank you for all your help. It is always a pleasure to deal with you.

Stayed: 20th Oct 2018

We had a great week and found the house very welcoming and comfortable.  Definitely want to return.

Stayed: 22nd Sep 2018

We think House is perfect. Only comment might be that carpet in bedroom 1 could do with cleaning and front door was quite tricky to lock , otherwise it’s lovely.

Thanks for always being so helpful and efficient. Excellent as usual. We hope to come again soon. Thanks for the help with the garage door.

Lovely Holiday Home. Our favourite Raintree house so far. Thank you for a great stay!

Stayed: 9th Jun 2018

As usual we had a really good holiday in Trevone. The weather was good to us as well which was a real bonus. As always we were very happy with The Ridings.

Stayed: 19th May 2018

We had a lovely time at The Ridings made even better with the weather!

The property was very spacious and we particularly liked the enclosed garden which was ideal with 2 small grandchildren!

Our daughter liked the artwork in the bungalow and the utility room was a useful feature!

We have returned from our fab week in Trevone – it was a lovely way to spend Christmas!
We have stayed in Trevone before and so love the location – The Ridings is a nice house and we felt lucky to be able to use it for our stay.
The Christmas tree was very elegant and really enhanced the Christmas feel
The living area is fantastic and the welcome mince pies were greatly appreciated. It feels very homely and the stove was great.
We loved the massive table!
Having two fridges was very much needed! The house was lovely and warm.
It is a very well stocked kitchen with pans/utensils etc
But a very positive trip which we will definitely recommend and we will stay again!

Just wanted to say that I have arrived home today after spending another fabulous week at The Ridings, Trevone Bay.   I and my two friends stayed at the same property last year.   As I have two dogs I find that it is fully enclosed so my dogs can wander outside if they want to without being able to get out.  The property itself is lovely.   Everything is catered for.   Once again a brilliant property.   Thank you so much

We had a good holiday and the bungalow was as good as it was last year.

I think the furniture in the front sun room was new. It was very comfortable and there was a view of the sea from there which I didn’t remember from last year.  As usual we really enjoyed our time in Trevone.

Thank you for all your help and we look forward to staying with you again next year.  I was just like to say what a pleasure it is dealing with you. You offer a very professional, helpful and friendly service.

Stayed: 27th May 2017

Fantastic holiday property the best yet & Trevone is now our favourite of the 7 bays.  Cake was delish, thanks.

Stayed: 8th Oct 2016

I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay at The Ridings. It was a shame we had to come home. The weather was unbelievable for October.

Thank you once again
