The Property

  • Atmosphere – This charming and comfortable family house, built in 1907, has been completely refurbished and tastefully decorated, and lies at the heart of Treyarnon Bay. It is only 10 metres from the beach, making a holiday with young children particularly easy. The house is perfect for summer months – its proximity to the beach is unique – and is double glazed throughout and with oil central heating to offer snug comfort during winter lets. All upstairs rooms offer stunning views across the sands to Trethias Island and the Atlantic.
  • Sleeping – At the top of the stairs is the first floor with a spacious landing leading off to the four main bedrooms and family bathroom. The main bedroom with en-suite bathroom overlooks the beach and has a large double bed which can, if required, be converted into twin beds. There is ample drawer and hanging space. Also enjoying sea views at the front of the house is a large comfortable twin bedded room with wash basin, chest of drawers, bedside table and hanging space. Beside this is a cosy single room with views of the sea. There is a further twin bedded room with wash basin and wardrobe which overlooks the balcony to the sea.

The very top of the house opens up to a beautiful loft conversion with two single beds and a double futon, along with bedside tables, chest of drawers and a glass topped table. The room is situated under the eaves, but there is plenty of headroom to make this a very nice room. There are two dormer windows which look out across the beach. There is also a separate loo with basin on this floor.

  • Bathrooms – The main family bathroom is found on the 1st floor. It is a pretty room, with large bath tiled in bright blue and panelled with wood tongue and groove. There is also a basin, loo and heated towel rail. The ensuite to the main bedroom is also well equipped with large bath, basin loo and heated towel rail. On the ground floor, a shower room is located – equipped with power shower, loo and basin. The top floor also has a simply furnished separate loo, with basin and heated towel rail. And, when you return from the beach, there is a hot and cold outside shower by the back door – perfect for getting evening bathing done in double quick time!
  • Living – Atlantic House is entered by the front porch into a tiled lobby area, useful for storing golf bags, shoes and beach clothes. From Beyond is the central hall, to the left of which lies one sitting room which is well furnished with three sofas, occasional tables, TV and video and has an open fireplace. To the right of the hall is a similar room providing additional living space with two sofas, large coffee table, sideboard, TV, DVDs, books and board games, allowing plenty of space for large family groups. These two main sitting rooms prove ideal for large family groups.
  • Kitchen and Dining – The far end of the hall opens on to the lovely kitchen and dining area. There are ample work tops, storage space and a lovely old fashioned dresser, complemented by electric oven and hob, dishwasher, two fridge/freezers, microwave and stereo - offering all you need to prepare and enjoy family meals. At the far end of this room, there is a large round table that comfortably seats ten. This wonderful dining table is ideal for large family meals, with the whole room opening up through French windows to the garden outside.  There are plenty of options depending on your preference and the weather, with another large wooden table outside the windows.

Another wonderful option for meals is the large balcony on the 1st floor, equipped with a wooden table and 10 chairs. A chimenea fire helps keep you warm here in the evenings, while it is positioned to catch the sun all day.

  • Facilities – At the far end of the kitchen by the back door, the utility room has an additional sink, drainer, washing machine, tumble dryer and large airing cupboard to accommodate any laundry. The back door here leads out to the outside shower. There is also a storage area with a chest freezer.

Outside

The back garden has separate areas giving you complete privacy for sunbathing on the sun loungers provided and for the children to play ball games. The area around the back door has an outside hot and cold beach shower and a barbecue. This sun trap offers an ideal spot for relaxing or outside dining and is screened by a natural stone wall. The private garden lies beyond this, making the entire area safe for small children. The whole garden is surrounded by a Cornish slate wall and tamarisk hedge.

The large balcony on the 1st floor also gives other outside options – making Atlantic House a perfect house for taking full advantage of good weather. And of course, coming back from the beach for lunch, or, staying behind at the house for a little quiet time before joining others on the beach, could really not be easier. The beach is so close.

There is parking for 3 cars on the private drive.

Nearby

Treyarnon’s amazing beach is right on your doorstep. You can enjoy its large sweep of sand, wonderful rocks for climbing and pooling, or unbeatable headland walking both north and south. There is also Treyarnon’s natural swimming pool carved into the rocks – it can be found on the right (north) side of the bay below the headland. Surfing is also good at Treyarnon – receiving plenty of waves, but a little more manageable than some of the most exposed beaches. Mid to high tide is best. Lifeguards are in place at Treyarnon, May through September.

For a change, you can walk to Constantine Bay in less than 10 minutes across the flat and easy headland. Its fine even for children in pushchairs – and even if carrying your beach gear and picnic!

For local shopping, Gary’s shop in the beach car park can be very useful. For all manner of provisions and essentials, as well as your daily milk, bread and newspaper, it’s perfect. For a larger choice, you can walk up through the campsite to Constantine Bay Stores in less than 10 minutes. Here you will find a range of quality food that may allow you to really avoid driving all week. Next door is Des’ surf shop for all manner of surf gear, to buy or rent.

Locally, the Youth Hostel past the beach on the right is open to non residents at different times of the day – for drinks, coffee and snacks.

Beach barbecues are a regular feature of warm evenings at Treyarnon. Enjoy!
