Full sun for both days, and really quite warm today with very light winds. Surf has been non-existent, but great on the beach. And so few people about – what a shame!

Finally made it to the Youth Hostel for the first time in a while – good breakfast bap and coffee – and meals and drinks all day for non residents. Its a real option now that the pub is just a distant memory. Notwithstanding their current planning application which is concerning alot of us, the setup is pretty good here. Great views for a beer.

There’s been loads of rock climbing, sunbathing, floating in the sea – great fun! Even old Chilli has been enjoying the weather – you can see her in the video having a stroll below!

And Windrushes where we have been staying has been great! So easy to get to the beach and pretty comfortable these days. Roll on summer!

Its a great house – I have stayed there for many years, most recently over February half-term with a huge group (don’t tell the girls in the office!) of brothers, sisters, granparents and cousins. Its a great house for 2 or 3 families – nowhere better. Loads of space and never feels crowded. And of course the hugely under-rated Porthcothan beach is just 100 yards down the road. When you can take in turns to pickup milk and newspapers from Porthcothan Stores (open every day of the year!!), what could be better!

Its a cancellation for Whitsun half-term – and we may even consider a small discount if you can’t quite fill the house!

Seascape at Constantine also is a cancellation for Whitsun half-term. Surely neither will be there for long now!

We’re confident that we can get all the rain out the way now, and look forward to months of warm sunshine. Sunday by itself was almost a year’s rainfall…and 2 year’s wind. Our office door was ripped off. Anyway, enjoy this lovely scene looking down to Treyarnon.

May Day on Tuesday was pretty nice too, and the Padstownians have enjoyed a fantastic 2 days of revelry. Many have been returning to work today…although Debbie has taken the full week!

It has been bought by a London interior designer, and it is being transformed throughout – wonderful chairs and sofas, great lamps, pictures and rugs, new fireplace, new beds and bedroom furniture, new heating and hot water system, new range cooker, painted wood floors – and lots of colour and style!

It will still sleep 10, but now with 2 King sized beds and 6 singles.

Its pricing is still at last year’s levels – so book a week quickly as we may be raising prices over the next few weeks.

12th April is free, as are a few weeks in May, a couple in June, and the first 3 weeks of July.

Porthcothan was great – and we even made it through the cave and waded across the lagoon to Trescore. But Feb half-term seems a long time ago! We are now focused on Easter…and a very busy period we will have through 1st 2-3 weeks of April.

It’s always the most hectic time of year – new houses coming on, existing houses all having work done, new staff and just general mayhem. So bear with us!!

We have 4 new houses – White Walls (sleeping 10/12), Cape Cod (13) and Merrymor (7) at Constantine, and now Parc Vean (8) at Trevone (not on website yet…but very soon!).

We are looking to add a ‘cheese’ box to our current Veg and Breakfast box options – containing yummy Cornish cheeses, salty local oatcakes and perhaps some quince or onion marmalade to go along side. We always feel it would be great to have a little box to allow you to enjoy a cheese course at the end of your first few suppers! Perhaps with a glass of red, delivered to your house for your arrival! Perfect.

Please welcome Carol to work with Debbie on bookings and admin, and Annabel who will be taking over as book-keeper from Sian in April. Best of luck to Sian with her willow-weaving and thanks for all her hard work! Sure she won’t miss the drive from Fowey! Told her she should have gone north coast….

And in the housekeeping team, Sam is back as a team leader alongside Jo, Jane, Sharon and Mark. And we also have Lisa, Sally and Jem joining the housekeeping team permanently and Chris and Rachel over the summer. We clean all but 3 of our houses with our own teams – and making every house spotless and perfect is what we are striving for! I hope you find the houses so.

We are also starting our own gardening service – and will be mowing our first lawns next week. What fun! Maybe a herb and vegetable garden for each house is not really so far away after all….

Merrymor at Constantine Bay goes live today! Great to add another good Constantine house to Raintree!

Over the next few years, Merrymor will change quite alot but right now its a clean and tidy house right in the centre of Constantine. It has a great terrace and garden and a conservatory which is sure to make for long and fun evenings in summer…or indeed all year round.

Its well priced, pending ongoing improvements by long term and fun Raintree guests, and now owners. It has July and August weeks free. It’s a Wednesday change house, and right next door to Pendoric. May be good to bag a summer week or 2 and enjoy the ride over the next few years!

Quite a large one too. Sure it will make fantastic returns for him, and will provide loads of green electricity to all of us who are nearby (not that we will know it…just the way the grid works…)

I hope to see a few more – but smaller probably – springing up.  One small Proven turbine (smaller and more unobtrusive, see below) at Booby’s Bay could provide all the power the 4 houses need – what fun.

As many may know, I am big into Solar PV. Also ideal, and many of our houses are getting involved – great!
