Key Features
Atmosphere
Treburrick Farm House is a characterful self-catering cottage situated in the quiet hamlet of Treburrick, just behind Porthcothan on the North Cornwall coast. Its a traditional 3 bedroom farmhouse, well maintained and full of Cornish charm.
It's spacious and fun to have 2 sets of stairs, one from the kitchen, and one from the hall at the far end of the farmhouse. If it's your thing, you'll love Treburrick Farm - some old world charm while providing comfort and function that we would all expect.
Kitchen, Living and Dining
The main entrance takes you straight into the kitchen, where the red two oven aga stands out. There is a kitchen table where six can eat very easily. It's also a great place to plan your day ahead - whether a long walk through the countryside, or plan a visit to one of the eight or nine beaches all within a 10 minute drive.
There are ample wooden kitchen units with a granite worktop with fitted steel single sink. There is also a slimline dishwasher, a fridge, washing machine, Nespresso coffee machine and a microwave. Stairs also rise from the kitchen up to the landing, and easy access to the separate cloakroom/loo and the bathroom.
From the kitchen you head through into the traditional farm sitting room, with sofas and chairs and a working open fire for cosy evenings. The main TV is here, equipped with NOW TV to make best use of the full fibre broadband at the house.
The main entrance hall, leading from the 2nd exterior door/porch, is at the bottom of the main stairs, and leads off to the separate Dining room at the far end of the house. An elegant round dining table dominates the room - a great place for more formal eating or perhaps games of cards or boardgames. There is a separate desk as well - ideal if occasionally you need to get away and check your emails! Not for long we hope!
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
This house sleeps six comfortably. The master bedroom is furnished with a new King size bed and is good sized, with double aspect windows looking out across the small village green towards the coast, or down to the small square and parking area. There is a chest of drawers, and a fitted cupboard for hanging.
Heading down the landing, next on the right is the twin room, with window out to the village/farm square. There is a large fitted cupboard providing both hanging and shelves. And then next door is the 2nd double room, with a King sized bed and chest of drawers/fitted cupboard.
At the far end of the landing, beyond the second staircase down to the kitchen is the separate loo/cloakroom, and the bathroom. The bathroom is bright and large - providing a good sized bath, with fixed shower and shower screen over. There is a second loo and basin here, as well as heated towel rail. Its a great place for a soak after long day at the beach!
Facilities
The aga provides cooking, heating and hot water at Treburrick Farm. It is oil fired and seems to manage the tasks well, although there is an immersion heater as well if ever needed.
The broadband is full fibre broadband - fast! And the main TV is setup to take advantage of this with a Now TV package. The tumble dryer and a freezer are located across the square in one of the outbuildings, while the washing machine is in the kitchen. There is a Nespresso machine, and a coffee plunger for morning essentials.
There are dedicated spaces for two cars, but not more.
Outside
The small and sunny garden is out at the front of Treburrick Farm. It's peaceful and quiet and great to enjoy meals out when the weather is great. There is a Weber charcoal BBQ.
Nearby
Treburrick Farm House is located back from the beaches in the hamlet of Treburrick, just inland from Porthcothan. The closest beaches are Porthcothan, Treyarnon, Constantine, or Mawgan Porth heading towards Newquay. Harlyn and Trevone are also close. All the beaches can be reached in 10 minutes by car, while Porthcothan is just 3 minutes drive. Diggory's Beach is even closer, and can be accessed down the cliffs from the National Trust car park which is located on the right just off the Padstow-Newquay road by turning towards Newquay for a few hundred yards when coming from Treburrick. From here you can also walk the fantastic headland round towards Porthmeor and on to Porthcothan, a patch of headland that was used regularly in the filming of Poldark.
There are few facilities in the village itself but it is just a 8-10 minute drive from the village of St Merryn and slightly further to the popular, bustling, harbour town of Padstow, where you will find plenty of shops and restaurants. For local shopping, local jams and other produce are sold a couple of hundred yards away (on the way to the coast) and there is a small farm shop near to St Eval church selling lovely fresh produce and operating an honesty box system. There is also a small general store at the post office at St Eval selling essentials including bread, milk and pasties!

We had a terrific stay at Treburrick, it was beautifully quiet a haven of quiet from the mass of tourists, we were really impressed by the range of facilities and utensils avaialable. I found the lovley honest box organic farm shed near the village and cooked a wonderful stuffed marrow! My husband enjoyed throwing open the doors, especially the stable door in kitchen to listen to birdsong with his early morning cup of coffee!
