Brambles occupies an enviable spot tucked away in a quiet corner, overlooking fields to the side and back. It is within walking distance of the beautiful beaches of Constantine and Booby’s Bay and a stone’s throw from Trevose Golf club if you fancy teeing off, having a drink at the bar or a meal in the restaurant.
Brambles has been thoughtfully furnished and has tasteful neutral décor and stripped wooden floors throughout. It is all on one level and the layout has been carefully designed to maximise the use of space. The main entrance to Brambles is at the side of the house and you enter into a bright spacious entrance hall. There is a storage cupboard to the left with plenty of room for all the families’ coats and shoes.
The living room is elevated and is large and spacious, perfect for family gatherings! This leads on to a dining area with patio doors leading out onto a large slate patio complete with garden furniture, for alfresco dining. The south facing rear garden feels pleasantly private and is not overlooked at all. The garden is large and has a second lovely patio area in the top right hand corner, with superb comfortable outdoor sofas.
The house sleeps nine in four bedrooms. All bedrooms are spacious and light with front or rear facing windows. The master has a lovely recently refurbished en-suite with views to the garden at the rear.
All bedrooms are off the central hallway and side hallway to the right, with the house layout flowing around in a circular shape.
As you enter the house through the inner porch door there are 2 bedrooms immediately to the left of the central hallway. The first bedroom is a twin or super king and has an optional day bed, great for keeping the little ones close or just lounging about! There is a vanity desk and mirror in this room and a double wardrobe with plenty of hanging space and four shelves.
The second bedroom to the left off the central hallway has a similar layout to the first, stays as a twin but also has an optional day bed (let us know if you want this made up). This also has a double wardrobe and a full length mirror. Both these bedrooms overlook the sweeping drive and garden to the front.
If you follow the corridor to the right from the central hallway you will find the recently refurbished family bathroom on the left and the cosy kids bunk room to the right, perfect for bedroom routines! The bunk room overlooks a pretty Cornish stone wall with colourful planting and farmers’ fields where tractors can be spotted at most times of year!
Tucked away at the rear of the house, is the spacious master bedroom which overlooks the garden to the rear. The room is L-shaped and has a large four drawer chest of drawers, vanity mirror and desk and full length mirror. This room also has its own bright, recently renovated ensuite bathroom, with cool retro looking tiles and a raindrop shower. There is additional storage with a hanging rail and shelves just outside the room in a cupboard.
There are two bathrooms and separate cloakroom at Brambles. The family bathroom is off the main hallway to the right, there is a built in bath with shower over and a glass screen, loo and basin. The fittings are modern and of good quality.
The ensuite bathroom is lovely with fitted loo, sink and a raindrop shower over the bath. The décor is modern, complete with cool retro tiles and neutral colours.
There is also a separate loo next to the utility room which is easily accessible from the garden. All are well presented, with modern fixtures and fittings maintaining the contemporary and well-designed feeling of the entire house.
The living area is a great sociable space filling the centre of the house. It is roomy, light and comfortable with windows facing out on to the sweeping drive and front garden and three smaller windows to the side. The room is slightly elevated, allowing huge amounts of light to flood in. This room is decorated in neutral tones and pale blues and has large comfy sofas, so everyone in the family can sit comfortably! There is also a large, good quality log burner for those chilly nights. For all your entertainment needs there is a 42” Flatscreen TV, CD player, Wii box, a selection of games and puzzles and good fast BT Broadband.
At the back of the house between the bunk room and the master bedroom is a snug. Perfect for the older children to hang out in! There is a two seater sofa, two beanbags and two wicker chairs and a desk, all in cool neutral grey colours! There is a large flat screen, wall mounted TV in here and a DVD player, so plenty to keep the kids entertained!
Kitchen and Dining
The kitchen is well equipped and compact, and is just off the dining area for ease of access. The kitchen units are arranged in a square shape and there is plenty of storage space, making cooking a breeze! There is a fridge freezer, Nespresso coffee machine (with capsules provided for you to buy at the house), full size dishwasher, a microwave, a 4 ring hob and electric oven and a fridge/freezer. The kitchen leads directly into the dining area, dominated with a large wooden table seating up to ten. The décor is again clean and simple and has lovely stripped wooden floors as in the other living areas. It leads directly out on to the lovely slate terrace through double patio doors.
Brambles has lawned garden to the front and the rear of the house. The garden to the rear is L-shaped and all on one level. Perfect for a kick about! The house is also blessed with two outdoor seating areas. The patio directly off the dining room is accessed by double patio doors and is laid with lovely slate slabs. It has chunky, wooden, good quality, outdoor furniture, is great for outdoor dining and has easy access to the kitchen.
There is also a smaller paved patio in the top right hand corner of the garden which is furnished with superb, comfy, outdoor sofas. This catches the sun in the evenings and is perfect for relaxing with a gin and tonic in hand while the kids make the most of the spacious garden.
There is even an outdoor shower next to the lower patio, perfect for washing off the sand before entering the house through the back door.
Oil fired central heating ensures the property is warm all year round. It is controlled by one easy to use, central, control unit in the kitchen and a thermostat on the wall in the hallway. There is also a large log burner for those particularly chilly nights.
Brambles has a useful and recently refurbished utility room. It can be accessed through the house or via the backdoor, providing a steel sink, heated towel rail, 8kg washing machine, 9kg tumble dryer and large freestanding fridge freezer, as well as good storage and worktop - really important when there is no choice but to get a couple of big loads of washing done! The kitchen is equipped with a 4 ring hob, a fridge freezer, an electric double oven, microwave, 4 slot toaster and Nespresso machine. There is BT wireless broadband and a house phone and mobile reception is reasonable. There are two TVs - in the main sitting room and in the snug. There is a great outdoor shower, Wii machine, DVD player and ample parking for three cars.
Brambles is located behind Trevose Golf Course and the golf club for many will be the hub of activity over their stay. The beach at Constantine Bay (or Treyarnon) is less than 15 minute walk away and all the 6 beaches of the area accessible in minutes by car. The golf course provides more than just golf! The tennis courts are available for hire and the outdoor pool a favourite for many. In the evening, the bar can be a lively place for a drink while watching the sun set over Trevose Head and Booby’s Bay. Supper can also be eaten here.
Constantine Bay Stores nearby provides an inspired selection of foods and provisions, allowing guests to keep away from the supermarket perhaps for the whole stay! Des’ surf shop next door is the local place to go to hire or buy all surfing and beach gear.

We had a great stay at The Brambles – the place had everything we needed! Only one thing to mention – the lamps in the double room don’t have any bulbs in for some reason! Oh and also the lights flicker in the main bathroom when the shower is on for some reason. Other than that we couldn’t fault the place and would love to return one day.
