Half terms and holiday periods
At half-terms the change over day will normally move to a Friday/Saturday/Sunday arrive/depart. It will also always be adjusted to best include the holiday periods of Easter, Christmas and New Year.
This is a very special house with a full height, vaulted entrance hall and a steel and glass stair balustrade making a dramatic entrance into the property. The property is very well furnished throughout – high quality fittings, sympathetic design and useable space. It’s large enough to fit two families comfortably, and to provide a great setting for a fun and relaxing holiday. The enclosed surroundings maintains a sense of privacy while being right at the heart of Constantine Bay and all that is going on.
The five bedrooms are spread across the ground floor. The first bedroom can be found by the front door and has two comfortable single divan beds, hanging space and shelves. The window looks out over the front garden. The rest of the bedrooms are located on the other side of the house, typically at the back and overlooking the rear garden. The double room has a five foot double divan bed, fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables with reading lamps – a very tranquil resting space. The master bedroom has a shower room en-suite, a double bed, fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers - and again it enjoys a calm relaxing feel. The 4th bedroom has twin beds and a fitted wardrobe, while the final room is furnished with full sized and sturdy bunk beds. It also has a cot and a fitted wardrobe.
Curlews benefits from a bathroom, shower room, ensuite and separate cloakroom. The main bathroom is partly tiled in white with tongue and groove panelling along the edge of the bath. It also has a loo and wash basin. There is also a separate family shower room, with loo and basin. The master bedroom’s ensuite has an extra large shower, basin, heated towel rail and loo.
A cloakroom with basin is also situated by the doors leading out to the garden and patio area.
The main living space is located on the 1st floor under the eaves and is a great room for relaxing or entertaining. There are two comfortable sofas as well as a chaise longue and coffee table. At the far end, full height French windows open up for a view of the back garden. There is a balcony railing to provide security.
- Kitchen and Dining
The kitchen/dining room is large with a beautiful table, seating for ten, a window seat and a wall television. Living space around the table takes up half the room – while the cooking area is very well equipped and spacious. The double glazed doors lead out to the back garden. The amazing fully fitted kitchen is featured in white, black and stainless steel. The large ‘island’ is topped with a granite work-surface and surrounded by tall bar chairs. There is a double oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and an iPod sound-dock.
Curlews has full central heating as well as a fire upstairs. A door off the kitchen leads to the utility room with tumble dryer, washing machine, and separate room for drying clothes. TV and DVD are provided as well as a stereo upstairs and IPod dock in the kitchen. There is wireless broadband provided at the property.
The garden is laid to lawn and is a major feature of Curlews, being large at front and back, enclosed and private throughout. The driveway has ample parking space, and there is a large garage for storing bikes and surf boards etc. There is also an outside shower for rinsing off the sand when one comes in from the beach. Garden furniture is provided so that you may sit on the patio and soak up the sun.
Curlews is located on the lane into Constantine from St Merryn. Trevose Golf Club is minutes walk away, providing access to the most spectacular golf course, tennis, swimming as well as a thriving bar and restaurant available to all. The well-stocked Constantine Bay Stores is also minutes walk away, with a range of quality goods that should allow you to avoid your car and the supermarket for quite a while on your stay. Des’ surf-shop next door will ensure you are well-informed and well-equipped to enjoy the wonderful beaches and surf on your doorstep – whether you wish to buy or rent your wetsuits and boards, or just have your first surf lesson.
The beach at Constantine can be reached down the beach road past the shops, or down a small footpath from the corner of the golf club and along the edge of the golf course. The path emerges in the middle of the fantastic dunes at the top of the beach after less than 10 minutes walk.
St Merryn is the nearby village providing pubs and shops, as well as a number of restaurants including Rafferty’s for a very special dining evening. Padstow is only 10 minutes drive away -with its array of boutique shops and gourmet eateries.
