White Walls’ has plenty of style and character and is a warm and welcoming family home. There are many attractive features and some quality fixtures and fittings.
Every bedroom is well furnished and modern bathrooms provide powerful spacious showers and large baths. The downstairs is dominated by the large open plan kitchen/dining room and the conservatory – with French doors leading out to the large terrace and garden beyond. Upstairs the feel continues; the big sitting room provides great views across to Constantine Bay as well as being a perfect place to relax in the evenings or after a long day at the beach or on the course.
- Sleeping and Bathrooms
There are seven bedrooms - four super kings, one king, one twin and a single room as well as four bathrooms. The roomy master bedroom is on the ground floor and has a super king size bed and large en-suite bathroom with loo, large bath and spacious power shower. The shower has a large waterfall shower head which ensures a very pleasurable showering experience. Large cupboards in the ensuite provide plenty of hanging and storage space.
Two other bedrooms are on the ground floor to the right of the hall. One has a comfortable king size bed with fitted cupboards on either side of the bed. Next door, there is a cosy room with king-sized bed and chest of drawers. These rooms share a shower room, finished with slate tiles, loo, basin and heated towel rail.
From the oak floored hallway, up the main stairs, there are three other rooms – another super-king, a twin and the single room. All are comfortable with similar decor to the other bedrooms. In the larger rooms, wooden tongue and groove wall mounted headboards create a nautical effect and complement the wooden wardrobes and drawers. These bedrooms share a large family bathroom with large bath, basin and loo - ideal for family bath-time, or late morning soak when others have left for the beach or golf-course.
At the far end of the house, through the back hallway, a second flight of stairs takes you up to the final bedroom. A large super-king bed dominates the cream painted room. It is a very pleasant room, with views across the golf course and is away from the hubbub of the house – perfect for some members of your party perhaps? It has an ensuite shower room as well with loo, basin and bidet.
There is also a powerful hot shower on the terrace outside – perfect for showering down after the beach.
Throughout the house there are 3 Hansgrohe power showers.
There are two living areas at White Walls - both very comfortable. Upstairs the large sitting room looks out over Constantine Bay, the golf course and dunes and across the sea to the dramatic Quies islands. The room is large and very light, with windows on 3 sides – a perfect place for reflection, games or evening relaxation. A large ottoman sits encouraging you to relax and enjoy the view, while there are comfortable sofas and armchairs for all. Large canvases fill the walls, and there are some nice design touches. There is a large flat screen television with all Sky television channels, a DVD player, an Ipod dock and wireless broadband. There is also a chess board and many other family games in the storage boxes beside the sofas.
Downstairs, the large kitchen opens up to the slate floored conservatory with underfloor heating. It’s a great place for entertainment, and it will likely be where most early evening tales of surfing, golf and the beach are told. Two large wicker sofas with thick cushions provide a perfect place to relax. There are attractive lamps, a coffee table and a small flat screen TV all making the conservatory a great 2nd sitting room. French windows lead out to the garden and the terrace round to the back from here.
- Kitchen and Dining
There is a David Shields designed kitchen which has everything you need. There are twin Bosch electric ovens, and a large five burner ceramic Bosch hob topped with a Siemens hood. In the kitchen are also a dishwasher and a small everyday fridge as well as a toaster, kettle and the Kitchen Aid mixer.
The kitchen/dining room is large enough not to feel crowded – whether baking, making tea or cooking a full English breakfast for your whole party. It’s perfect for large family feasts. The dining table will seat your party comfortably and has two wooden high chairs.
Off the kitchen is the utility room and back hallway. Here you will find the large American style fridge/freezer, as well as the microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a Sheila maid for drying small items simply and efficiently. Further down the hall there is plenty of room for all your coats and shoes as well as golf club racks.
In addition to those mentioned above, the owners have added many other useful extras. A large flat screen TV twinned with Sky provides great viewing upstairs, while a small flat screen allows options in the conservatory/kitchen. All the showers are large waterfall showers.
The house is particularly setup for children and babies. In the house you will find: Tomy digital baby monitors; Avent steam sterilisers; white cotton changing mats; stair gates - for the top and bottom stairs; 2 high chairs; a Bumbo; a Play Mat; 2 travel cots; plates and bowls, tumblers, knives, forks & spoons; a potty; Mclaren single buggy; hand held food Whizzers; blackout blinds and a few toys.
Please let us know in advance if you wish to use any of the above 'baby gear' so we can open the store for you.
The lovely enclosed garden is laid mostly to lawn with an outside shower, a trampoline for the kids and a sheltered and sunny slate patio. There are two wooden tables and plenty of chairs for outside eating, as well as a large Weber BBQ. The two wooden deck loungers with cushions are perfect for unwinding. The best way into the house after a day out is from the back patio, allowing you to shower off outside and hang up your clobber before getting into the house proper.
White Walls is just yards from Trevose Golf Club, providing access to the most spectacular golf course, tennis, swimming as well as a thriving bar and restaurant available to all. The well-stocked Constantine Bay Stores is also minutes walk away, with a range of quality goods that should allow you to avoid your car and the supermarket while on your stay. Constantine Bay surf-shop, next door to the stores, will ensure you can enjoy the wonderful beaches and surf on your doorstep – whether you wish to buy or rent your wetsuits and boards, or just have your first surf lesson.
The beach at Constantine can be reached down the beach road past the shops, or down a small footpath from the corner of the golf club and down along the edge of the golf course. The path emerges in the middle of the fantastic dunes at the centre of the beach after less than 10 minutes walk.
St Merryn is the nearby village providing pubs and shops, as well as a number of restaurants. Padstow is also only 10 minutes drive away - with its array of boutique shops and gourmet eateries. Try the Seafood restaurant, St Petroc's or Rick Stein's cafe, Rojanos or No.6 for great food. Watergate Bay is 10 minutes by car and home of the Extreme Surf Academy and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant. Newquay Airport is 15 minutes from the house.
And wonderful St Ives, the Eden Project and Land's End are all within striking distance.

Whitewalls house was fantastic. Great location and very comfortable. Very well equipped especially for young children. Really nice garden and outdoor seating area although we did have to watch the seagulls who would try and eat anything as soon as your back was turned!!

We have had a very enjoyable holiday at White Walls. Apart from the bedrooms being small we found the house very comfortable with the large lounge upstairs and kitchen conservatory excellent for a large family. Sadly we will not be able to come back to Cornwall next year but hope to on a future occasion.
