The Studio at Pensile House

  • Originally an artist’s studio, this luxurious and stylish 1 bedroom cottage is set in glorious countryside on the sunny south valley side, on the edge of the fantastic small town of Nailsworth (named No 32 in the Sunday Times best towns in the UK!) in the South Cotswolds.
  • The cottage can sleep up to 4, using a 140cm sprung sofa bed in the good sized open plan living room (bathroom is en suite to the bedroom)
  • Large French doors open out onto a sunny and sheltered terrace area for dining and relaxing, while a Morso wood burner makes eating round the kitchen island a pleasure on cool evenings
  • Fibre internet direct to the cottage gives very fast 50mbit/s speeds.
  • Situated next door to Pensile House Cottage, with a connecting gate that can be unlocked where both cottages are taken by the same group, allowing 4-6 guests to stay in luxury

We had an amazing time staying at Pensile Studio. It’s a lovely place to stay, not far to walk into the village and it’s quite a central place to stay to visit all the other villages. We would highly recommend.

Wonderful stay. Fabulous hosts. High end accommodation. I found parking difficult but have spent most of my life in USA so have always found driving difficult in the Cotswolds. My son visited and backed in and out no problem! Thoroughly recommend as a peaceful beautiful place to stay

This is an absolute gem of a place, pics don’t do it justice!! Highly recommend and location is superb if you want to enjoy the Cotswolds, we certainly did. We also met the very friendly Patrick and Amanda and their lovely little dogs too, this is one place we intend to come back to for sure , thanks again.

We had a lovely relaxing break at Pensile
House Studio last weekend.  It was well equipped and very comfortable
although we did feel that there was one sofa too many squeezed into the
living area. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area in the
future.

Beautiful place, really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was delightful, and an ideal location for exploring the Cotswolds. Nailsworth itself was lovely, with nice pubs and restaurants, but a perfect jumping off point for exploring. The drive was interesting, but we quickly learnt to drive past the property and reverse in with our 4WD – smaller vehicles will find different ways in. Very pleasant stay here.

The studio is perfectly located just a short walk from Nailsworth town centre… very handy for shopping and eating out – no need to drive. You can also go for lovely walks directly from the studio – either out to the woods, or up onto the common if you don’t mind an uphill hike! Our dog particularly liked the woods… Alternatively, you can just stay at base and enjoy the fabulous view! The studio is comfortable, spacious, and stylishly decorated. Well equipped on many fronts. Communication was quick and clear and helpful. Highly recommended.

Wonderful studio apartment in a really beautiful part of the Cotswolds. Had a wonderful break from the city enjoyed the Stroud market, scenic walks/drives and amazing local bakery and restaurants. Will definitely stay here again!

Quiet, well positioned apartment in a lovely little town. Best equipped Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in with underfloor heating, breadmaker, dishwasher and washer dryer. Great furnishings. Would highly recommend. One point, bring a smaller vehicle if you have one as it would be hard to park here with a large car.

This fabulous accommodation in a beautiful location ticks all the boxes. Despite the fact that we spent 10 days there during which there were three major storms that blasted the UK, it couldn’t dampen our experience. Nailsworth is cute and very close by and the surrounding Cotswolds are a national treasure. Unconditionally recommended.

The studio at Pensile House is lovely and very comfortable with everything that you could possibly need including great products in the bathroom. It is situated above a valley with a fabulous view out over the valley and a paved terrace to sit out on in good weather. Great walks in beautiful local countryside and an easy 5 minute stroll into Nailsworth full of independent shops and restaurant/cafes. I hope to be able to come and stay again.

Great property and location. Ideal for exploring the Cotswolds and having a lovely base to go back to. The stove was a nice touch. The only things we found were missing were toilet rolls, kitchen roll, sponge or dish cloth and any coffee pods. But the Morrison’s around the corner is less than a 5 minute walk and everything is readily available.

A snug little studio in the most perfect and lovely location. Loved having a cup of tea in bed in the morning and looking out at the trees. Fantastic facilities, loved the underfloor heating and fire as well as the very well equipped kitchen! Perfect for a break

Such a beautiful, comfortable and cosy space. We stayed two weeks and had glorious sunshine and horrific thunder storms so we made good use of the decking and sunbeds but also felt all cosy curling up on the huge sofa during the rainstorms. The beds are super comfy as well and the kitchen is so well equipped – coffee machine and smoothie maker were both real treats! Great location, easy to stroll down into town for a meal or to buy bits and bobs and loads of fabulous walks nearby. All together a great stay!

Fantastic stay at the studio. Perfect for a weekend in the Cotswolds. Location is fabulous and the accommodation is great. So much natural light and a really comfortable bed. We brought our dog and she was very comfortable there with space to play outside and walks on the doorstep. Will definitely stay again!

This is a very well-equipped, beautifully-situated studio, and a bit Tardis-like: it’s much bigger on the inside than you might imagine from the outside. There’s nothing that hasn’t been thought of on the inside and outside; great kitchen facilities and comfortable furniture and, had it been dry, we’d have made much use of the terrace and its great views. We ate locally twice – The Olive Tree both times – and can’t recommend that highly enough either, not least for its proximity to the studio. All in all, a very lovely stay.

Really great find completely tucked away in Nailsworth. The studio offers great views and total privacy. We particularly loved the windows on both sides of the bedrooms, and starting the fireplace was super easy (even for towners like us who aren’t used to them). While we were here in February and couldn’t make use of the outside space, I am sure the terrace is a veritable suntrap in the summer. We’d love to return.

The studio is fabulous. The location is stunning and within walking distance to everything you need in Nailsworth. We were lucky enough to meet the hosts and they were lovely. Immaculately clean, it was just a shame we couldn’t enjoy a BBQ due to the weather as the terrace has amazing views. Would definitely return as the town is wonderful.

It’s even more beautiful than the photos and cleanliness is 10/10. The island in the kitchen and underfloor heating were also great perks. The location was central to everything you need in the small idyllic town of Nailsworth. You can go on scenic walks from your doorstep or it’s a short drive to Westonbirt Arboretum. Would recommend this place to couples or small groups of friends who like to be cosy

We loved our stay at the new Pensile House Studio and have nothing negative to report.

We absolutely love Pensile House Studio.

The cupboard space is very welcome, and the general layout of the studio is cosy and perfect for just the two of us.

Patrick very kindly responded to the few “Whats App” questions I had of him, promptly.  I left our comments in the book too.

The only additional comment that I would add to this is that a bigger fridge/freezer would be welcome, but given the layout and the plant of the kitchen and the location of the current fridge, not sure how you would accommodate it.  Of course,  I am sure that not all your guests stay for two week periods as we do and may not have need of a bigger fridge/freezer.

We loved the stay in the cottage it’s a lovely property really well furnished and finished!

There were a couple of things that I would point out one being that the key box is actually on the wall as you go up the steps rather than to the side of the door, it was ok for us arriving in daylight but for anyone arriving in the dark I think they would struggle to find it! Also I did leave a note for the owner explaining that the washer/dryer was not working, we didn’t manage to use it as it came up with an error code which we googled and said something about temperature sensor if I remember correctly.

They were only small things but I thought it was worth a mention, we would definitely go back though as the setting and cottage were beautiful!
