Key Features
The Property
- Atmosphere
Immaculate, spacious, and professionally designed throughout, West Winds is four-bedroom, four-bathroom home offering a refined blend of style and comfort in one of North Cornwall’s most sought-after beachside settings. Fully renovated by an interior designer, using Edward Bulmer paint throughout, the property pairs thoughtful layout with coastal character, creating a calming and elegant backdrop for your holiday.
Set just above the beach, the house enjoys sweeping sea views and easy access to the shoreline. A footpath leads through the dunes, placing you on right on Mawgan Porth beach in minutes. From the house, wander one way to reach the village’s shops and relaxed eateries, or head the other direction to find the bar at The Scarlet Hotel—perfect for an evening drink as the sun sets over the Atlantic.
- Living, cooking and dining
At the heart of the West Winds lies an open-plan kitchen and dining space, where soft sea-green cabinetry, warm wood flooring, and a large dining table with bench and chair seating set the tone for sociable, easy-going living. A Quooker tap provides instant boiling water, while a Nespresso machine ensures coffee is always to hand.
Leading off the kitchen is a stylish ground-floor sitting room, complete with a log burner, wall-mounted TV, and French windows opening onto the garden. To the front, sliding doors reveal a decked terrace with sea views—an ideal spot for a quiet drink, a moment in the sun, or watching the changing colours of the Cornish sky.
Upstairs, the main living area has been designed to make the most of West Winds’ fantastic location. Framed by wide glass doors, the views stretch across the bay and out to the horizon, filling the room with light and a sense of space. Sumptuous cream sofas invite you to sink in and relax, whether you're sharing stories after a day on the beach or simply watching the sun sink below the horizon. This is a space made for slow mornings, cosy evenings, and those quiet in-between moments when all you need to do is gaze out to sea. Step through the doors onto the generous balcony, where outdoor seating offers the perfect spot for coffee at sunrise or a glass of something special after a busy day on the beach below.
- Bedrooms and bathrooms
The first of the bedrooms sits on the upper floor—a tranquil superking room decorated in calming cream tones, with white-washed furniture and soft green accents that echo the coastal surroundings. Next door, a second superking bedroom offers a dual-aspect view to the side and towards the sea, with a plush bed and plenty of natural light.
Also upstairs is a cheerful bunk room overlooking the front of the house and the sea beyond. Sliding doors open directly onto the glass-fronted balcony, giving younger guests their own connection to the coast. Ideal for children, it’s a bright and practical space designed with family holidays in mind.
Downstairs, a further superking bedroom offers privacy and a sense of retreat, with sliding doors leading onto the suntrap terrace. Floor-to-ceiling curtains lend a soft, luxurious feel, creating a space that feels more like a boutique hotel than a typical holiday home. Completing the sleeping arrangements is a twin room, where funky green wooden beds bring a playful splash of colour—perfect for children, teens, or friends sharing.
West Winds features four well-appointed bathrooms, each thoughtfully designed with comfort and style in mind. While none of the bathrooms are ensuite, the layout is perfectly practical: each of the three upstairs bedrooms has its own dedicated bathroom, while the two ground-floor rooms share a spacious shower room. Downstairs, bold yellow accents add a playful touch to the shower room, which includes a walk-in cubicle with a rainfall shower—ideal for rinsing off after a day on the beach. Upstairs, the main family bathroom offers a luxurious deep freestanding bath and a separate shower, perfect for unwinding in the evenings. The remaining two bathrooms are both fitted with high-quality showers and luxury fixtures. Heated towel rails in every bathroom ensure warm, fluffy towels and a little extra indulgence after each soak or shower.
- Facilities
West Winds offers private parking for two to three cars, gas central heating throughout, and the convenience of a 7kW electric car charger — ideal for guests travelling with electric vehicles.
Outside
Outside, the house is surrounded by generous outdoor spaces. A large rear garden provides plenty of room for children to play or families to relax, while the terrace offers a sunny, sheltered spot for al fresco dining or a leisurely afternoon with a book and a sea breeze.
