The Property

  • Atmosphere

5 Greenwaves is the perfect beach apartment, ideal for couples, small groups or even larger parties wishing to split themselves between multiple houses within the area. It can sleep 4 in two bedrooms and is conveniently positioned, set back on a no through lane just off the main beach road. The Greenwaves apartment building itself is set within a sizable plot with attractive lawned communal terraced gardens boasting a sea views and a gate that leads out down the lane to the coast path and Trevone's beaches. The apartments most impressive and captivating feature would have to be the large bay window in the main living space which beautifully frames the breathtaking views out to sea and across to the life boat station at Mother Ivy’s. The apartment can be accessed by lift or stairs and provides a very easy, relaxing and convenient base to explore Trevone’s beaches, café , farmshop and pub. It is also minutes drive from Padstow or any other of the beautiful bays nearby.

  • Sleeping

There are two bedrooms at 5 Greenwaves which are situated next door to each other. The first is off the entrance hall to the left, a Twin room (2ft 6in beds) where the beds can also be pushed together to form a king size if desired. There is one bedside table between the twins and a good amount of natural light through a window that looks out the back of the apartment building. There is a built in wardrobe with ample storage space, a chest of drawers and interesting artwork also helps liven up the room. The second and master bedroom with 4ft 6 inch double bed is next door with a convenient and contemporary en- suite. There is a dressing table with chair next to a built in wardrobe and 2 matching bedside tables. The bedroom enjoys great sea views through a window to the side and is finished off with modern artwork and a large useful mirror which can be illuminated , which is situated over the dressing table.

  • Bathrooms

There are two bathrooms at 5 Greenwaves, both fitted to modern standards and neatly tiled throughout. The first bathroom is on the right hand side of the entrance hall and features a bath with shower over, loo and basin. The second is an en-suite to the master double room with built in, spacious shower, loo and basin.

  • Living/Dining/Kitchen

Greenwaves combines the living/kitchen and dining spaces together in one large and airy space. This means they all benefit from the superb views through the recently installed patio doors which replace the bay window and can be opened up to form a clear glass Juliet balcony (a wooden gate is supplied for small children to stop them walking into the glass). There is also a smaller square ‘portal’ style window which also neatly frames the sea views whilst sat at the dining table. Feature lighting , local artwork help to create a comfortable, cared for aesthetic. There are two leather sofas in the centre with a large dining table to seat 4 off to one side. Around the corner past the dining table is a large opening which leads into the U shaped kitchen space with kitchen units against all three walls. The kitchen units are modern with dark stone worktops, within the kitchen space there is also a useful iPod dock. Finally to help best enjoy the fantastic sea views there are two perfectly positioned wicker armchairs neatly tucked into the bay window, just waiting to be relaxed upon.

  • Facilities

Greenwaves is very well equipped throughout. It features Gas central heating, wireless broadband, a flat screen TV,with recordable Dvd player. There is an undercounter fridge with small icebox, Nespresso machine, washer/dryer and dishwasher all contained within the kitchen area. There is also a useful outside storage shed to store beachgear.


The outdoor area can be accessed down the stairs or lift and along a paved path around the side of the building. There are a number of lawned, sunny spots to enjoy with pleasant views out to sea from the top terrace, and a convenient gate brings you out along the lane to the coastal path and Trevone’s beautiful beach’s.


Both beaches are minutes away. The main sandy beach is great for all – sunbathing, beach sports, sunbathing, rock-pooling and with secluded spots to have a quiet read or snooze. This beach does not allow dogs during the summer months – but Newtrain beach with its wonderful rocks and pools allows dogs all year round. You can enjoy the natural swimming pool carved into the rocks. Walking is great in both directions – across the easy headland to Harlyn and on to Trevose, or past the blow-hole and smuggler’s passage, across Hawker’s Cove and on to Padstow in under 2 hours.

Trevone itself is very well provided for – with a beach shop, cafe and a pub. Trevone’s proximity to Padstow for restaurants, shops and the occasional supermarket shop is valuable. And the almost ‘secret’ back road, out past the beach, provides the easiest access to the wonderful Padstow Farm Shop and its fresh vegetables, meat and bread.

Greenwaves was better than expected – wonderful to have easy parking, somewhere to wash feet and wet suits before entering, storage for boards and bits. Big and spacious, the view was gorgeous (better than expected), and the flat equipped with everything we could wish for. Showers lovely and hot, and pressure nice and strong. Bed linen super soft, and beds comfy! My only gripe (and they are not alone in this), is fridge size – especially in this lovely kitchen where they could have potentially put in a bigger one, but that didn’t detract from the holiday in the slightest. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely consider them again, as well as Trevone (a beach we were previously unfamiliar with). Friendly neighbours and well cared for communal spaces (as well as a quick to respond maintenance team) we had a wonderful time!
An enormous “thank you” to all at Raintree for your handling of the plumbing issues, and for ensuring our holiday didn’t need to come to an early end. Thank you for finding us another spot to stay for our last two nights – we were genuinely so grateful, and so impressed by the service received (“that’s why we book through Raintree” – now even more certain!)

The apartment is well located near the beach, clean and nice and bright. It had the basic essentials that we needed.  It was also comfortable and warm. It really worked for us being close to friends in the same block, and for access to rocky beach and the coastal path.
