Bass Cottage is nicely furnished and well maintained throughout. It is short stroll to the family friendly beach at Trevone and provides a perfect base for your family beach holiday. The location is so close to the beach it means that coming back to enjoy lunch at ‘home’ is too easy! The house is well laid out with more than enough space for relaxation with two lounges, one of which is a cinema room with large TV and black out blinds. The other lounge is just off the spacious, double height dining area. Patio doors lead out from here to the good-sized, pretty garden and terrace, perfect for Al Fresco dining or a BBQ.
There are two entrances to the property one at the front and one at the side. At the front of the house is the second lounge complete with large TV, black out blinds and comfy sofas, perfect as a cinema or gaming room for the whole family. At the heart of the house is the dining area, where there is plenty of space for everyone to sit and enjoy a meal in comfort. Next to the dining area is the first lounge with comfy sofas, TV, attractive wall mounted fire and a desk in the bay window looking out over the garden.
The three bedrooms are located along the corridor off the dining area. The large master ensuite bedroom overlooks the garden; it is well furnished with a comfortable 6ft Super King size bed, large chest of drawers, TV and built in cupboards providing plenty of storage.
The second bedroom is opposite the master bedroom to the left of the family bathroom. The room has a king size bed, fully fitted cupboards, a chest of drawers and looks out over the front of the house.
The third bedroom has two 2’6” single beds, ideal for the kids. There are bedside cabinets in this room and a hook on the back of the door for storage.
There are two bathrooms and a cloak room at Bass Cottage, all finished with tiles, shaver points and large electric heated towel rails. All the fittings are of a high quality.
The master bedroom’s ensuite is nicely furnished and very spacious. It has a shower over the bath, a wash basin and loo. The family bath room is located between the master and second bedroom, and includes a loo, basin, and hand held shower over the bath. There is also an additional outside shower by the main entrance, a perfect place to shower off after the beach. Just off the dining room is a very useful cloakroom, perfect to make sure the kids wash their hands before dinner.
- Kitchen and Dining
In the centre of the house is the light, airy, well equipped kitchen. This is a lovely room in which to cook, with plenty of worktop and cupboard space. The kitchen is equipped to a high standard with a gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher and American style fridge/freezer. The kitchen units provide ample room for the crockery, glassware and pans. The kitchen leads through to a spacious double height dining area with good quality solid wood dining furniture. Patio doors lead out from the dining area into the attractive garden, where there is plenty of space to relax in the sun or BBQ and dine on the patio area.
Bass Cottage has a very useful store just inside the side gate, perfect for storing your beach gear. There is also a separate utility area housing the washing machine, tumble dryer and a cupboard where the hoover, ironing board and other useful things can be found.
There is gas central heating and wireless broadband throughout the property.
The garden has a large patio area with table and chairs and barbecue. The remainder of the garden is laid to lawn with pretty borders. The side gate is bolted making the garden safe for small children and dogs
Bass Cottage is located in a small complex just back from the beach. It retains a private feel. The beach is about 4 minutes’ walk down the lane – easily close enough to nip up or down without a thought. And if you want to park up the car for as long as possible, there are shops around to cater to your daily needs. The village farm shop provides local produce and daily essentials. The beach café is good for a casual lunch, relaxing cup of coffee, takeaway pizza or evening meal. Surf and beach equipment can be bought or rented at the surf shop. And the Well Parc pub is easily accessible by foot.
Padstow Farm shop can be accessed in a few minutes by the almost unknown back road past the top of the beach – perfect for top quality meat and vegetables. Or carry on into Padstow for shopping and restaurants. Walking is perfect in both directions along the coast path – either round the headland or over delightful Hawker’s Cove to Padstow, or south to Harlyn, Trevose Head and beyond. The carved rock ‘swimming pool’ on New train beach, Trevone’s 2nd rocky beach, is very special. Dogs can be exercised here all year round. The main sandy beach is just perfect for everything you might want – whether sunbathing, castle-building, surfing, swimming, rock-pooling or taking part in the family cricket match.
