Mordros is positioned in a quiet, secluded part of Trevone within easy reach of the beach, farm shop and village pub. The house occupies a large plot with a very spacious back garden and front drive. It's a calm, relaxed base from which to explore Trevone and the nearby coast in either direction. It's also a quick and easy 5 minute drive into the bustling Padstow centre. The house sleeps 11 in 5 bedrooms and benefits from a large, social kitchen/dining space with sliding doors leading straight out onto a sunny private terrace. Both the super king and twin bedrooms upstairs feature innovative Velux skylight/balconies that when fully unfolded, pull in masses of fresh air and natural light. They also provide a nice spot from which to look back across the scenic surrounding farmland. The upstairs bedrooms also feature inviting distant views of the nearby coastline along to Trevose Head. These sea views, the spacious garden, cosy sitting room and sunny terrace make Mordros a superb Trevone all rounder!
Mordros features 5 bedrooms - a super king ensuite, a twin ensuite, 2 kings and a triple bunk room. On the ground floor are both the kings, one with light bright views out over the back garden, a wash basin and built in wardrobe. The other king has views out over the front drive, wardrobe and drawers. The final bedroom on the ground floor is a triple bunk room with single wardrobe and views out over the front drive. On the first floor either at end of the landing are the super king and the twin (optional super king). Both feature superb Velux balconies that can be fully opened to transform the bedrooms and flood them with natural light. Both also feature distant sea views and ensuite bathrooms.
There are 4 bathrooms at Mordros with two useful ensuites to the super king and twin on the first floor. One with a shower, bath and loo the other with a shower and loo. The ground floor has the family bathroom with a shower and loo and then finally there is a further shower room off the utility space with shower and loo.(no basin in here but there is one directly outside in the utility area).
- Living room
The sitting room is cosy and well presented with two three-seat and one two-seated sofa that surround a feature electric fire. There is a large flat screen TV with Bluray player that is super for watching movies especially with the extra speakers for maximum sound quality.
- Kitchen and dining
The kitchen and dining space at Mordros is to the back of the house - a large open plan space with ample worktop and cupboard storage. With a handy TV in the corner to aid the cooks among the group. The design of the kitchen is well set up for social chefs with the cooker orientated towards the dining table, so chefs can be cooking whilst others sit around the table. The dining space is light and is connected to the front terrace and garden by a large sliding door.
The house is centrally heated with a cosy electric fire in the sitting room. There is a washing machine and second range cooker in the utility with a second fridge and dryer in the hallway. There is also a dishwasher and microwave available in the kitchen.
The back garden is large with a terrace area perfect for outdoor entertaining and dining alfresco with a charcoal barbecue to make use of. Easily accessed straight from the kitchen/dining area, it's a super spot to sit out with pleasant views across the abutting farmland. There is a small pond and further comfy seating in the form of a comfortable rattan corner sofa. The lawn is large and ideal for football or cricket or just for for the dog to stretch its legs.
Trevone’s beaches and all its facilities are within easy reach of Mordros. The headland between Trevone and Padstow is dominant on the skyline to the north – but follow Homer Park Road across to join the main beach road. The beach is minutes away.
The sandy beach is popular with many nooks and crannies to sunbathe, as well as a broad expanse of sand for playing games. The bathing is safe and protected, but also good for surfing, particularly for beginners. Surfboards can be bought or rented at the beach shop.
Right alongside the sandy beach is Newtrain Bay, also known as Rocky Beach - great for exploring, rock pooling, and for swimming in the natural pool. Newtrain allows dogs all year round. The two contrasting beaches provide great fun for children and adults alike! The beaches can be walked to in less about 5 minutes along the lane.
For shopping, Trevone has a good beach and surf shop, as well as a cafe for ice creams, coffee, pizzas and other light meals. The village shop further back from the beach is open 7 days a week, with quality bread and pasties, as well as other staple supplies. The Well Parc provides an opportunity for lunchtime or evening drinks, and is accessible by footpath and lane from all over Trevone. The village has a great sense of community, one of which guests immediately feel a part of.
Padstow is less than 5 minutes by car, with its historic harbour, shops and boutiques, as well as a huge range of restaurants and cafes, led of course by Rick Stein’s Seafood restaurant, bistro, café, and wonderful ‘fish and chip’ shop. Padstow Farm Shop, just outside Padstow itself, is great for local meat and vegetables and can be accessed by the ‘back lane’ out of Trevone – by car or by foot. Seafood can be bought from the atmospheric quay at Padstow.
The coast path is easily accessed – and walking is fantastic in both directions: to Padstow in under an hour, or across to Harlyn and Trevose Head.

The staff at Raintree are very friendly and professional and Mordros was lovely. It had everything needed for a good holiday, the garden is spacious and comfortable and peaceful. We will be booking again shortly. It’s only a short stroll down to a fabulous beach which has a nice cafe too. If you’re looking for some nice food try Trevisker garden centre cafe it serves excellent food morning noon and night and is fairly priced. Thanks to Raintree house and the property owners.
