Key Features
The Property
- Atmosphere
Parc Vean is a lovely, spacious and light-filled house near the top of Trevone. It has been refurbished throughout to make it a great base for your holiday. There are stripped floors through the ground floor, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and nicely decorated giving a modern beach house atmosphere. There are lawns and a sheltered garden. Modern bathrooms are a joy, and the 2 small balconies great for enjoying the atmosphere.
- Sleeping
There are two bedrooms downstairs, while the master bedroom, with its ensuite bathroom can be found upstairs. The main bedroom has stripped wood floors and a king-size bed, plus a TV/DVD. There are two small balconies from the bedroom and from the ensuite bathroom - providing a great spot to view the sunset and to relax with a glass of wine. The en suite is spacious and light, with a white tiled floor, paneled path, wicker laundry basket and chair.
Next door, there is a twin room with large wardrobe and plenty of light through windows on both sides. On one side there is a comfortable window seat - perfect for finishing your book before heading out.
Downstairs there is a king and twin room. Both are nicely furnished with plenty of storage space - there is a large fitted wardrobe in one, and simple wardrobe and chest of drawers in the other. All rooms are decorated in clean white, with fresh curtains and pictures, giving an uncluttered and clean atmosphere.
- Bathrooms
Downstairs is a well-equipped shower room, with a powerful shower cubicle, bath, basin and loo. There is a hand-held shower attachment on the bath, and a large heated towel rail. While upstairs, the ensuite also has a bath, basin and loo - as well as its fun balcony. There is also a separate cloakroom downstairs.
- Living and Dining
Light floods through the main living space at Parc Vean. A large glass door opens up the front of the house to the main lawn, while French doors lead out the back to the sheltered terrace. A comfortable leather corner sofa and 2 more easy chairs make for easy and relaxing living. The other side of the room is dominated by the large oak dining table, with ample seating for 8. An open gas fire creates the perfect evening atmosphere, and gas central heating ensures you are cosy whenever you visit.
- Kitchen
The kitchen is well equipped and perfect for cooking up supper for your party, or preparing a light breakfast to eat on the terrace. It is equipped with double oven, 4 burner gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave.
- Facilities
Off the kitchen is a small utility room, with useful storage and hooks for coats. There is also a separate cloakroom next door to the utility. Mobiles work well - but Parc Vean also has a landline and wireless broadband.
Outside
The front garden has a good area of lawn, good for some ball games or relaxation. Steps lead down to a gate onto the Trevone beach road below. Well maintained borders lead round the side and back of the house to the wonderful raised terrace with attractive rattan furniture and lovely planting in raised beds, this will undoubtedly be where you spend most of your time on sunny evenings. Two sets of patio doors ensure that the house and garden can be enjoyed together when the weather suits.
Care is needed to ensure children are careful down the steps to the front.
Parc Vean has a long narrow drive, with enough space for 2 or 3 cars. But to stop each car blocking others in, guests can park nearby on the road if they wish.
Nearby
Parc Vean is located near the top of Trevone. You can quickly walk or drive down to the main sandy beach, or the rather wonderful Newtrain beach, with its rock pools and natural swimming pool. Or go on round to the lovely sandy bays in either direction - maybe you may find some cowries here.
The beach shop is well equipped with surf and wetsuit rental and perfect for a morning coffee while you read the papers. There is cafe eating at lunchtime or supper in season all out on the great terrace behind the beach - all with an easy walk home. Closer still to the house is the Trevone farmshop (good for papers and bread, and all sorts of essentials), and the Well Parc pub - a nice place for a drink or game of pool, with a fantastic view over the beaches. The Padstow Farmshop is also only a few minutes drive away - with full butchers shop and the freshest local vegetables.
Padstow is only 5 minutes drive away, with shopping, boat trips and superb eateries. Rick Stein's restaurants are always worth booking, while Jamie Oliver is only 15 minutes drive to Watergate Bay. The airport at Newquay is 15 minutes. Walking is wonderful in both directions along the coast path.

A very comfortable stay in a super, spacious house, many thanks.
We struggled to fit out vehicle in the very narrow driveway, it might be worth mentioning this to families with large cars.
We loved our holiday and were charmed by the area, so will certainly be bearing Raintree in mind should we ever find ourselves able to return to Cornwall in the future.
