Key Features
- Atmosphere
Set over three floors, Seascape’s interior is modern, bright and airy whilst maintaining some fantastic original features. It is ideal for a family beach holiday in Cornwall! The main open plan living and dining area, which opens out onto the garden, is particularly inviting and great for a get together around the large dining room table! There are also two lounges, so plenty of room for everyone to relax! The upstairs lounge even has far reaching views to Trevose head! The wide staircase and large landing give this house a real feeling of space and four well-proportioned bedrooms and three bathrooms ensure a comfortable stay for everyone. There is parking for 2/3 cars; the driveway goes straight out on to the main route in and out of Trevone. It is just a short stroll to the beautiful, family-friendly, Trevone Bay - the only dog free beach in the area during the summer. It is also a short walk to the lesser known Newtrain beach, with its rock pools and manmade sea swimming pool - open to dogs all year round. Everything you need is accessible on foot from here, including a pub, beach shop (offering surf board and wetsuit hire), café and farm shop, making it easy to hang up your car keys, relax and forget about driving during your stay.
- Kitchen, Living and Dining
You enter the property through an impressive tiled hallway, plenty of space to hang coats and store wellies in the built in cupboards. The large entrance hall has a small office to the left, perfect to catch up on emails away from distractions. This entrance hall leads to the large, impressive kitchen diner, complete with interesting worktops made from recycled materials, double electric oven, large fridge freezer and dishwasher. This will undoubtedly be the centre of activity during your stay. The large patio doors lead out on to the terrace and garden beyond and the double height ceiling make it incredibly light and airy.
The kitchen diner leads on to the utility room which has a washing machine, tumble dryer, sink and plenty of storage space in large cupboards. Off the kitchen diner there is a snug room with sofa, chair, smart TV and DVD player great for keeping the kids occupied whilst waiting for dinner.
There is an additional living room on the first floor, a more adult place to relax with far reaching views across to Trevose head. There is another smart TV in here.
- Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Seascape sleeps eight in four good-sized bedrooms, making it ideal for 2 small or one large family or a group! The master bedroom is in the eaves on the second floor and is a cosy room with wonderful views from the Velux cabrio balcony window out over Trevone Bay. There is storage in a large chest of drawers and a hanging rail under the eaves. The second bathroom is right next door with a large walk in shower, loo and basin!
On the first floor there are 2 good sized double bedrooms both with built-in wardrobes; one has built in shelves and the other a desk. Both have a view out over the garden to the rear of the house.
The final bedroom is a very spacious twin and is on the ground floor just off the entrance hall. This room has a great feel with its high ceilings, bay window and decorative fireplace. There is storage here in a large pine chest of drawers and matching bedside tables.
Opposite this room and off the entrance hall is the main family bathroom. This is very spacious with separate bath and walk-in shower. There is also a shower room off the utility room which is accessible from the ‘beach’ door to the side of the property, perfect for jumping in and washing the sand off after a day on the beach. All the bathrooms are clean and modern and decorated with the same stylish grey tiles.
- Facilities
Seascape is centrally heated throughout and with underfloor heating in some areas. There is wireless broadband and there is some mobile reception at the house on certain networks, although Trevone reception in general is not great.
- Outside
The patio doors in the dining area lead out onto a paved terrace area and an enclosed garden. There is seating on the terrace, ideal for sipping a glass of wine on a sunny evening or relaxing while someone cooks up a storm on the weber charcoal BBQ. There are steps up onto a lawned area and there is enough space for a kick about and a swing seat in the top left hand corner.
- Nearby
Trevone Bay Surf Store is right on the beach and offers surfboard, kayak, paddle board and wetsuit hire, as well as delicious ice creams and a good variety of beach goods and clothes. There is also a café here serving good coffee, cakes and light meals during the day and is also now open for dinner in the evenings and has a good reputation.
The village shop provides newspapers, fresh bread and pasties daily, throughout the main season. Padstow Farm Shop is also a short walk or drive on the coast path towards Padstow and supplies top quality meat and vegetables, amongst other goodies!
Explore the coast path in either direction - round the heading past Hawker's Cove to Padstow, or south to Harlyn, Trevose Head and beyond. Dogs can run free on Newtrain beach all year round, whilst the main beach is suitable for whichever activity takes your fancy - sunbathing, surfing, swimming, rock-pooling, beach games - or just some horizontal downtime soaking up the sun (with a bit of luck!).
