Tadpoles’ swimming pool is available from Wednesday 1st May 2019 – Wednesday 25th September 2019; the Jacuzzi is open for guests all year round.
  • Truly stunning sea views from the first floor balcony and the house’s large private paddock located behind the swimming pool – a whole world of fun to be had for children, teenagers and ‘big kids’ alike. The paddock also makes exercising your dog hassle-free.
  • The house itself is contemporary throughout with four comfortable bedrooms sleeping 10 and a spacious living area occupying the entire first floor, leading out to a balcony with sea views.
  • Sitting on a small complex, Tadpoles is around a four-minute, flat walk along a lane to Trevone beach and the rock pools at Newtrain – Trevone’s lesser-known, yet rather special second beach. There’s a surf shop and cafe too, allowing you to leave the car at the property for the week if you wish.

The Property

  • Atmosphere

Tadpoles is a beach house that ticks all the boxes for a family holiday in Cornwall. One of the only self-catering properties in the area with its own outdoor heated swimming pool* and Jacuzzi set in a relaxing oasis, Tadpoles also offers a large, private paddock, with views looking out over the Atlantic to boot. Contemporary and comfortable throughout with sea views from the first floor living room balcony, Tadpoles offers the space for three-generational, or two families, to holiday together comfortably. Located only a three-minute stroll from the beach at Trevone, Tadpoles makes it easy to hang up your car keys for the week and forget all about them. With local stores, a cafe and pub, Padstow Farm Shop, surf shop and surf hire equipment all accessible on foot, there is everything you need for a luxury family beach holiday.

  • Kitchen, living and dining

The open-plan kitchen and dining area at Tadpoles is a lovely space for coming together to cook, eat and entertain after a fun day exploring rock pools and working on your front crawl. French doors lead out to the pool and paddock beyond. The modern shaker-style kitchen is equipped to a very high standard, complete with an Aga, gas hobs and an integrated microwave. The large dining table seats 8 comfortably. A highchair is available on request.

The impressive living room at Tadpoles occupies the entire first floor, offering the space for two families to spend time together in comfort. Apex ceilings, generous seating options in contrasting ivory and navy, an open fire and a large, glass-fronted balcony with sea views really makes this room the heart of the home. The space is designed so that the adults can relax in front of the fire to one side of the room, whilst children and big kids alike are able to find their own spot on the other side of the room, complete with a fun table football. There is Sky TV in the living room.

  • Bedrooms and bathrooms

The four bedrooms at Tadpoles are all located on the ground floor. The master bedroom is located at the back out of the house and has French doors giving the room its own access out to the back garden. Decorated in a bright, neutral colour palette with a 5ft king size bed, the master bedroom also has its own ensuite shower room which has recently been remodelled. Either side of the master bedroom are the family bathroom, the twin bedroom and the king bedroom with bunk beds. The second king room with is own ensuite is located to the right of the entrance hall when you walk through the front door. All bedrooms are beautifully furnished with a subtle, cool and coastal them running throughout.

The three bathrooms at Tadpoles are all modern in design and finished to a high quality with powerful showers.

  • Facilities

Tadpoles is centrally heated throughout and has lot of useful storage facilities. There is a double cupboard in the entrance hall, perfect for keeping clutter out of the main living areas. There is wireless broadband and a telephone.


The outdoor space at Tadpoles is really what sets the house apart. The large patio is equipped with table and chairs. Patio steps lead up to the outdoor heated swimming pool* and Jacuzzi. Beyond the pool, there is a secret passageway which leads to your own expansive private paddock - your own fun and beautiful Cornish oasis for the whole family to make the most of.


Tadpoles is located in a small complex, set just back from the beach. The house itself is not overlooked by the other properties around it. The beach at Trevone is less than a five minute walk away - perfect for nipping between the house and the sand anytime you need to pop back. The village shop provides newspapers, fresh bread and pasties daily throughout the main season. You'll also find a cafe serving coffee, cake and casual lunches. Surf and beach equipment can be bought or hired from the surf shop and the Well Parc pub is also just a short stroll away - everything you need for a fantastic weeks holiday in Cornwall.

Explore the coast path in either direction - round the heading past Hawker's Cove to Padstow, or south to Harlyn, Trevose Head and beyond. Dogs can run free on Newtrain beach all year round, whilst the main beach is suitable for whichever activity takes your fancy - sunbathing, surfing, swimming, rock-pooling, beach games - or just some horizontal downtime soaking up the sun (with a bit of luck!) If that wasn't enough, Padstow Farm Shop is also easily accessed, supplying top quality meat and vegetables, amongst other goodies.

Fantastic service from our two Spanish cleaning girls and Katie the Pilates teacher as well as the ‘repair ‘ team. I was really pleased with everything organised for the holiday. My wife had a great birthday with presents and stuff over the whole week. I was particularly impressed with how Raintree managed to arrange such good weather! Given that my wife’s favourite pastime is sunbathing – apart from shopping – it worked out marvellously. So, if all things work out, hope to see you next year.
