  • Atmosphere

Situated at the very end of a no-through private road, just yards from the beach at Trevone, Veilsfield is a stunning whitewashed art deco property, which has been sympathetically updated to effortlessly embody this iconic style. Sturdy wooden furniture, wide windows and neutral flooring and meticulously chosen fittings in seaside colours echo Veilsfield’s coastal location.

  • Living

Encompassing cooking, dining and relaxing areas, the open plan ground floor at Veilsfield is a wonderful social space. Two sets of bifold doors in the kitchen and living areas open onto a huge decked area, which really brings the outdoors in. In summer slide open the doors, let the Cornish sunshine stream in, or dine alfresco on the deck. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essential appliances to make holidaying easy, including a dishwasher, wine cooler and the all-important Nespresso machine. The sitting room is simply furnished with a couple of comfy sofas, an armchair and some huge beanbags. A wall mounted TV provides entertainment when needed. Bifold doors lead out into the garden from here as well. Outside, and separate from the main house, children and teenagers can enjoy their own space in the snug-cum-playroom where there is another TV set up for gaming and DVDs.

  • Sleeping

Veilsfield has four bedrooms; one on the ground floor and a further three upstairs. The king size room is at the end of the ground floor and benefits from its own French doors which lead out onto the rear patio – the perfect spot to sit and enjoy an early morning coffee in the sun. This room is decorated in a restful shade of grey and has an ensuite with walk in in shower, basin and loo. A double fitted wardrobe is available to house all those holiday clothes. Upstairs the master room is large and has its own balcony with views out towards the bay. A superking bed also has the option of being made as twin beds if needed. An original 1930s bedroom suite hints at Veilsfield’s art deco past. Along the corridor, a twin room with wooden beds also overlooks the rear garden. Calming blue walls and blinds decorated with schools of fish echo the nearby coast. The final bedroom is at the end of the upstairs corridor and has a pair of wooden beds, a chest of drawers and also looks out over the rear of the house. This bedroom also has its own ensuite.

  • Bathrooms

The main family bathroom is upstairs and has glossy blue tiling, sleek fixtures and fittings and a waterfall shower over the bath. The upstairs twin room benefits from its own ensuite with a shower cubicle, basin and loo. Downstairs the ensuite off the king size bedroom also has a large walk in shower, basin and loo. Off the utility room there is a further shower room, with Moroccan inspired accent tiles, loo and wash basin.

  • Facilities

Veilsfield has a downstairs utility room with a washing machine, tumble drier, wine cooler and cupboard storage. There is parking for two cars on the drive - additional cars must go in the nearby car park by the beach.

  • Outside

The garden is private and secluded. On the decked area there is a wooden table (with parasol) with seating for eight, which is ideal for meals al fresco, or you can just rest on the sun loungers and beanbags if you prefer. The garden is surrounded by a hedge and is mostly laid to lawn.

  • Nearby

Veilsfield is situated on a corner plot at the end of Bay Road only one hundred and fifty yards from the main sandy beach. A little further round is Newtrain beach - with its rock pools and secret shady areas - and the natural swimming pool. At the end of Bay Road is the surf shop and café - good for all manner of beach gear, food and coffee. The Trevone Farmshop is further back up the beach road, while the Padstow Farmshop on the back road to Padstow is the place for the best meat and veg. The Well Parc pub is a short walk away.

Padstow is only 5 minutes’ drive away, with shopping, boat trips and superb eateries. Walking is wonderful in both directions along the coast path.

I wanted to say how much I loved staying at Veilsfield.  It was the perfect holiday let for me and my family with a very comfortable and well thought out interior, extremely well equipped, very comfortable beds and delightful enclosed garden – with two young grandchildren this is a must!  Please pass on my thanks to the owners.

Lovely house and comfortable stay thanks.

Thank you Raintree!  Four generations staying here and Veilsfield loved by all.  Large, clean, calm house in beautiful location and not overlooked.

Stayed: 29th Jun 2017

We are currently staying in Veilsfield enjoying our holiday as always in this lovely part of Cornwall. I cannot remember how many years we have been using Raintree but it has been several years now and something my husband said this week made me think I should give you some feedback, as suggested in your last email.
We booked this holiday late ( we have another with you in September which we booked much earlier) so in all truthfulness Velisfield would not be our first choice being in Trevone as we prefer Constantine or Treyarnon but all houses of the right size had gone. However, Veilsfield is superbly positioned within minutes of the beach, minutes of great walks with the dogs and is very safe and quiet.  The garden in secluded and great for little children and dogs alike. The house furnishings of sofas and beds are reasonably comfortable. So far so good.

We had a great holiday and the house was fantastic, particularly the location so close to the beach! The whole thing was very easy to arrange again and everything was as expected so thank you for helping to make it such a laid back holiday.
