Key Features
- Atmosphere
West Farthing is situated at the end of a quiet no through road with beautiful views across open countryside and amazing sea views, with Trevose Head jutting out into the Atlantic in the distance.
The house has been in the same family since it was built in the 1970’s. It is bright and tastefully decorated with renovated Ercol and G Plan furniture throughout, totally in keeping with the house. Contemporary paintings, which were painted by relatives of the owners, give uniqueness to the house’s interior. There is a sociable open plan living area, where all the family can spend quality time together.
- Sleeping
West Farthing has 4 bright, tastefully decorated bedrooms. There are two king bedrooms both with plenty of storage and useful basins; a double with hanging space and basin and a twin with a wardrobe and basin.
- Bathrooms
West Farthing has two bathrooms. The main family bathroom has a bath and spacious walk in shower. There is also a shower room with loo and basin next to the utility room.
- Sitting Room
The first thing you notice as you enter the lounge are the views through the large patio doors. Looking out across open countryside to the sea, you could be miles away from anywhere. There is plenty of seating and a smart TV, DVD player and sound bar.
- Kitchen and Dining
The kitchen is well equipped with a dining table in the middle. There is a five ring gas cooker, dishwasher and under counter fridge. There is also a Bosch Tassimo coffee machine.
- Facilities
Modern central heating ensures cosy warmth and plenty of hot water. In the utility room there is a washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and fridge freezer.
- Outside
The house is in a perfect setting, at the end of a quiet lane and the uninterrupted views really are stunning. There is a lovely terrace, situated to make the most of the views and a seating area with large patio doors leading into the lounge and includes a large table with eight comfortable chairs, perfect for a glass of wine whilst watching the sunset. There is a gas BBQ and an outside cold shower for hosing down after a long day on the beach.
- Nearby
From West Farthing, Trevone and all its facilities are within easy reach. The sandy beach is popular with many nooks and crannies to sunbathe, as well as a broad expanse of sand for playing games. The bathing is safe and protected, but also good for surfing, particularly for beginners. Surfboards can be bought or rented at the beach shop. Right alongside the sandy beach is Newtrain beach, also known as the rocky beach. Great for exploring, rock pooling, and for protected swimming in the natural swimming pool. The two contrasting beaches provide great fun for children and adults alike! The beaches can be walked to in less than 10 minutes by road, or alternatively via a public footpath which you can reach by heading down Dobbin Lane and turning left before The Well Parc Hotel; this will take you to the coast path but will take a little longer to walk to than by road.
For shopping, Trevone has a good beach and surf shop, as well as the Madrips café for ice creams, coffee, pizza and other light meals. The village shop further back from the beach is open 7 days, with quality bread and pasties, as well as other staple supplies. The Well Parc provides an opportunity for lunchtime or evening drinks, and is accessible by footpath and lane from all over Trevone. The village has a great sense of community, one of which guests immediately feel a part.
Padstow is less than 5 minutes by car, with its historic harbour, special and individual shops and boutiques, as well as a huge range of restaurants and cafes, led of course by Rick Stein’s Seafood restaurant, bistro, café, and wonderful ‘fish and chip’ shop. Padstow Farm Shop, just outside Padstow itself, is great for local meat and vegetables and can be accessed by the ‘back lane’ out of Trevone – by car or by foot. Seafood can be bought from the atmospheric quay at Padstow.
The coast path is easily accessed – and walking is fantastic in both directions: to Padstow in under an hour, or across to Harlyn and Trevose Head.
