Constantine Bay Cottage, 21 Ocean Blue, is a family-owned duplex property in the luxurious and well-known Ocean Blue complex at Treyarnon Bay. Its location is superb – allowing access to Treyarnon Bay in minutes and Constantine Bay in an easy and flat 5-10 minute walk across the headland.
Constantine Bay Cottage is the perfect bolthole summer or winter. Cosy and warm, beautifully decorated, and with original and colourful artwork and photographs throughout. The ground floor is open plan, with good quality stripped wood flooring throughout, while thick wool carpets extend up the stairs and throughout the bedrooms. The perfect place to easily come back to and relax after time on the beach or walks along the headland. Leave the car parked up all week!
Both bedrooms are upstairs and very comfortable. The master bedroom faces out over the courtyard and towards the sea, with a floor to ceiling window and Juliette balcony providing wonderful air and light all year round. The oak king-sized bed, thick mattress and beautiful sheets provide real comfort! The wardrobe is large and there is ample storage for long dresses and to keep suitcases out of the way.
Next door, the twin room has nice views across open countryside behind the property. These beds can be made up as a double if required.
The bathroom is beautifully finished with stone floor and wall tiles. The bath is equipped with a power shower and a proper shower screen. The other fittings are of high quality. Downstairs, a cloakroom shares the same style and finish.
The main living space downstairs is open plan. Two 2-seater sofas dominate the front of the living space, with a chunky square table and chairs behind. Bright and attractive artwork decorate the pastel coloured walls.
- Kitchen and Dining
The kitchen is equipped with AEG appliances - oven, gas hob and hood and microwave. The black granite worktop provides plenty of space for preparation, and the large fridge-freezer plenty of storage space. A window frames the country views to the rear of the property. The modern kitchen cabinets complete the stylish and slick feel. Attractive table and cookware complete a simple but easy dining environment. The table can be extended to allow eating for larger parties. Or you can enjoy the bistro table on the petite outside terrace to the rear!
Constantine Bay Cottage enjoys gas central heating and is highly insulated - so cosy and comfortable all year round. Hot water is heated on demand by the gas boiler, ensuring that there is always plenty of hot water for all. The TV provides freeview digital reception - there is also a DVD player.
Constantine Bay Cottage has a small area at the front, but your garden is really the beach and headland on your doorstep. The sliding doors at the front of the house open up the living space to the outside - allowing you to eat meals sat on the wall outside or moving your dining table close to the open doors. A external door leads out of the back of the kitchen - this allows air and light into the back of the house, and also gives access to a small terrace for morning coffee or evening drinks. The beach is so close you may just decide to barbecue on the beach - most warm nights at Treyarnon there will be plenty of beach barbecues just a minute or 2 from your front door. There is no need to drive to enjoy some of the finest beaches and headland walking in England. There is a cold outdoor shower available, so you can shower off before coming into the house after a day at the beach.
From Constantine Bay Cottage, Treyarnon Bay is just a couple of minute's walk. The beach is a firm favourite with families – with a large expanse of golden sand, as well as great rocks and pools for climbing and exploring. The natural swimming pool, carved into the rocks, is minutes away. Constantine Bay can also be walked to very easily, across the flat headland north of Treyarnon. Constantine is renowned for surfing as well as providing beautiful rocks and sand dunes along its length. From the cottage, the coast path heads south towards Porthcothan – passing Fox Cove and a particularly beautiful stretch of North Cornwall headland.
For shopping, Gary's shop in the beach car park provides all essentials in season– both for the kitchen and for the beach. A more extensive selection of food and supplies are provided at Constantine Bay Stores, a 10 minute walk inland. Next door, Constantine Bay Surf Shop provides surf board and wet suit sale and rental.
By car, St Merryn provides various restaurants, as well a pub, Post Office and bakery. Padstow is less than 10 minutes by car, with its historic harbour, special and individual shops and boutiques, as well as a huge range of restaurants and cafes, led of course by Rick Stein’s Seafood restaurant, bistro, cafe, and wonderful ‘fish and chip’ shop. Padstow Farm Shop, just outside Padstow itself, is great for local meat and vegetables.
Whether you are a beach lover, a walker, or someone who just wants to bathe in the very special light and air of North Cornwall, Constantine Bay Cottage is a perfect location.

Feedback wise, the house was great and well equipped with no issues. Location was great and exactly what we wanted. Shame you can’t control the weather as slightly cooler than we had hoped even though it didn’t stop us from being in the sea and on the beach.

We enjoyed our week very much, despite the Cornish weather! We found Constantine Bay Cottage to be a very cosy little bolthole, nice and quiet and for the most part very well fitted and kitted out. I appreciated very much the delivery of wine glasses and the dustpan and brush once I had let you know there weren’t enough! Thanks again Raintree, we love your part of Cornwall!
