Key Features
** House Description below will be updated as Renovation/Extension work is completed in May/June 2025. There will be 2 extra luxurious bedrooms and a shower room. **
- Atmosphere
Surrounded by breathtaking coastal views, Spin is a luxurious and unique coastal home perched atop the cliff at Treyarnon Bay. This truly one of a kind house has been designed with relaxation and style in mind and provides unparalleled luxury with underfloor heating, waterfall showers and a grand piano. Spin is the perfect contemporary retreat for those seeking to get away from it all and spend an unforgettable holiday by the beautiful Cornish coast.
The approach to Spin is via a private lane. The crisp white, understated entrance only gives a tiny hint at the luxurious space that lies within. Spin certainly takes organic architecture to a new level. Cleverly hidden in the headland, the house has an open plan living/dining space that is flooded with light and takes full advantage of the spectacular views of the North Cornwall coast. Step outside and head up to the sunken roof terrace. On a clear day, it's possible to see as far as St Ives to the west and Bude in the east. There is ample opportunity for great walks straight from the door as the house has its own direct access to the South West Coast Path.
- Sleeping
Spin has two beautifully appointed bedrooms with comfortable king size beds and ensuite bathrooms. Walk in wardrobes provide plenty of space to hang up holiday clothes. To sleep 6, please request that the two fold up beds are made available for your stay. Luxury bedlinen and towels are provided for all beds.
- Bathrooms
There are three bathrooms, two are ensuite to the two bedrooms, while one is a family bathroom near the entrance, providing a large walk-in shower loo and basin. The master ensuite bathroom has a separate bath and a walk in waterfall shower, with a push button frosted glass screen - to make the bathroom private from the landing outside, or to allow light to flood in from the headland. The second has an over-bath waterfall shower.
- Kitchen, living and dining
The upstairs living area is where Spin really shines. Floor to ceiling windows in the living area are designed to take full advantage of the panoramic views across the bay and up the coast. In cooler weather, light the fire and cosy up in front of the TV which is ingeniously hidden away in the ceiling. A Sonos system extends to all rooms in the house. There is a baby grand piano for the musically minded and a dedicated work area for when needs must. The B&B Italia Bend sofa is by Patricia Urquiola.
Finished with clean white units, the kitchen is extremely well equipped with Miele appliances including an induction hob, oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Tableware is by Jasper Conran at Wedgwood and there is a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine available for guests to use. A large Hans Wegner dining table seats up to 8 sits by the window to enjoy the views over the headland and out to sea.
- Gym
The gym, purpose built, is available for guests' use and features a Cybex recumbent bike and cross trainer, yoga mats, a selection of weights and resistance bands and a practice putting green.
- Utility Room
Here you will find a large wine cooler, the washer and dryer plus some additional freezer space. Just inside the front door and next door to the utility room is a further shower room - ideal for surfers coming off the beach!
- Outside
Sympathetically designed to sit unobtrusively within the landscape, Spin can barely be seen from the lane. The grassy roof extends from each side of the property and is largely left untouched to blend into the natural environment. The front of the house is a real suntrap with a bistro set for alfresco eating and drinking. Steps lead up to a large sunken roof terrace making this the perfect place to sunbathe and watch the sun go down over the horizon.
Guests have access to the garage where there is a table tennis table and some body boards available for guests to use during their stay.
Spin is most suited to adults and older children. There are no stairgates and the stairs to the sleeping area are open between the living and kitchen areas. The roof terrace is sunken but isn't fenced off from the grassed roof of the house. There are high drops to the driveway so smaller children would need to be watched and not allowed to explore up here alone.
- Nearby
One of Cornwall’s best beaches is minutes down the coast path. You can enjoy its large sweep of sand, wonderful rocks for climbing and pooling, or unbeatable headland walking both north and south. There is also Treyarnon natural swimming pool carved into the rocks which can be found a short walk out on the coastal path below the headland. Surfing is also good at Treyarnon – receiving plenty of waves, but a little more manageable than some of the most exposed beaches. Mid to high tide is best. Lifeguards are in place at Treyarnon, May through September.
For a change, you can walk to Constantine Bay which is almost as close, in less than 10 minutes across the flat and easy headland. Its fine even for children in pushchairs – and even if carrying your beach gear and picnic!
For local shopping, Treyarnon Bay Stores in the beach car park can be very useful. For all manner of provisions and essentials, as well as your daily milk, bread and newspaper, it’s perfect. For a larger choice, you can walk to Constantine Bay Stores in about 15 minutes. Here you will find a range of quality food that may allow you to really avoid driving all week. Next door is Des’ surf shop for all manner of surf gear, to buy or rent.
Locally, the Youth Hostel is just a 2 minute walk from the house towards the beach at Treyarnon. It is open to non residents at different times of the day – for drinks, coffee and snacks. It has improved its range, and really is pretty good now for a light lunch or evening drinks in a fantastic setting and with wonderful views. Beach barbecues are also a regular feature of warm evenings at Treyarnon. Enjoy!

Oh having a few beers on the deck at night under the stars was special-Thank you.

Glorious house and almost feels like part of the coastline. We enjoyed all of the local beaches.
Played lots of table tennis, loved watching the sunsets and just being in the house.
The book selection is fab and great to play the piano.
Some small suggestions-we could not find any scissors in the kitchen and a spatula for the non stick frying pans, and perhaps some bedside tables might be useful.
Sonos amazing Thank you

What an incredibly beautiful house in an amazing location.
We have love our week at Spin.
The weather was fantastic-lots of hot sunny days spent at Constantine surfing and body boarding.
We also loved the beach close by, it was wonderful having the house so close with all of the creature comforts you could ever want.
Great location and facilities. Really unique and beautiful with great access to beaches, views from the living room and kitchen. Amazing to be able to walk out across to the SW Coast path and onto the cliff tops or beaches. Great advice from the Raintree team for check in and directions.
Thank you.
