  • Atmosphere

The Beach House really is a property with the ‘wow factor’ with its interesting layout , stylish décor, path to the beach and private swimming pool. It truly is the perfect place for a family beach holiday!

The Beach House is thoughtfully furnished with a mix of quality, modern and vintage pieces creating an individual and stylish interior. Understated grandeur and beach chic is the style here and the choice of natural materials is reflected in all the décor.  The open stairwell in the centre of the house, cleverly placed windows and the double height ceilings give a feeling of space and light in all areas of the house, while the exposed wooden beams give a feeling of warmth.

All rooms are well -portioned and similarly furnished and rooms to the front of the house have excellent views of Treyarnon Bay and the coastline beyond. The house is set over several different levels and the living room and master bedrooms are on the upper floors and benefit from the best views from spacious balconies.

  • Kitchen, Living and Dining

You enter The Beach House through a wide glass door into a double height entrance hall. The style of the house is apparent from the outset. You are greeted with exposed wooden beams, vintage furniture, a huge indoor plant planted into the floor and a wrought iron chandelier. The open staircase leads up from here to the left into the stylish living room. There are bookshelves covering the entire back wall – plenty of interesting reads to keep you entertained here.  There are two large comfortable sofas, a large TV with Sky, DVD player and a wood burning stove for chillier evenings.  There are double doors here opening out to a balcony with stunning views of Treyarnon Bay and beyond. The whole house is designed with light in mind and there are even pretty stained glass windows here letting more light flood into the living area from the kitchen.

Up one step and behind the wooden balustrade is the dining area with a large solid wooden dining table and enough space to seat everyone. There are more double doors here leading out to the large decked area, overlooking the swimming pool at the back of the house.  A very social area, perfect for a grown up lunch while watching the kids splash around in the pool.

Next to the dining area you find the well-equipped and well-proportioned kitchen. The quality continues with wood cabinets, granite work surfaces and a double Belfast sink. There is also a moveable breakfast bar with stools. The appliances are of good quality with a large fridge freezer, double Rangemaster cooker, microwave and dishwasher. Here there is a view out to the back garden and a door out to the decking on one side and a quirky small archway letting in more light from the open stairwell beyond on the other.

There is also a small snug on the first floor with a TV, sofa and beanbags. Perfect for the kids to escape and watch a movie or play a game.

  • Sleeping

The Beach House sleeps eleven people in five bedrooms. The first 3 bedrooms are on the first floor to the right of the main entrance. Here you will find a triple room with full size bunk beds and a single bed, perfect for kids who want to share a room. There is plenty of storage in this room with large inbuilt wooden cupboards.  Next door is a double room with solid wooden bedstead and driftwood chair. Here there is storage in a large chest of drawers and a wardrobe. Both these rooms benefit from sea views. Opposite these bedrooms is another double room, this room has double doors that lead out to the terrace, garden and swimming pool beyond. There is storage here in a chest of drawers and hooks on the back of doors.

The further 2 bedrooms are up the open staircase and on the second and third floors. The first is next to the snug on the 2nd floor and is a very spacious room with ensuite bathroom. There is a king size bed here with driftwood frame. This room is spacious enough to fit a sofa, as well as a wardrobe and chest of drawers. It has a velux window to the back and a sea view to the front.

The piece de resistance in this house is the master suite, up the final flight of stairs with its own landing. It has a double height ceiling with exposed beams and runs from the front to the back of the house. There are three double height windows in this room, one has double doors leading out to a balcony at the front so you can take in the sea views and one has double doors with a Juliette balcony overlooking the garden and swimming pool to the rear. The third window overlooks the fields to the side of the house. Opposite here there is a large mirror on the wall, reflecting all the light back into the room.  There is a sofa, coffee table and TV in here making it a perfect place to relax.  There is a woodburner here but please note this is not in use.  There is plenty of storage in the  inbuilt wooden wardrobe, dressing table and large chest of drawers.

  • Bathrooms

All the bathrooms in the house are well appointed with a mix of modern and vintage looking fixtures, all of excellent quality.

The family shower room is on the first floor to the right of the entrance hall. There is a large walk in shower, sink and loo. The fixtures here are modern with subway style tiles.

On the ground floor there is a wet room with two walk in showers. This can be accessed from the side of the house directly from the path to the beach. There is space in here to store your wetsuits and boards and is brilliantly designed for a family beach holiday. Next door to here in the utility room is a separate cloakroom with vintage looking fixtures.

The two ensuite bathrooms are really something special. The first in the smaller of the two bedrooms has a claw foot bath with hand held shower over, vintage look Jack and Jill sinks and a loo. There is a velux window out to the back garden and even a stained glass window here. The second master ensuite bathroom is huge and has a stylish freestanding bath in the middle and a walk in shower, sink and loo. The fixtures here again are vintage looking but the shower is an ultra-modern raindrop shower.

  • Facilities

The Beach House is centrally heated throughout and has a log burner in the lounge. There is broadband throughout the property.

There is a very useful utility room on the ground floor with separate washing machine and tumble dryer, double Belfast sink and drying area.

There is also a games room on the ground floor complete with pool table and sofa.

There is a 7kw Easee electric car charger fitted, with a Type 2 socket. Please bring your own lead, and you must register with Raintree prior to arrival/use so that the charger can be unlocked.

  • Outside

The Beach House occupies an enviable spot on the end of the lane, meaning that the back garden is not overlooked at all. You enter the Beach House on a sweeping gravel driveway, the well-kept lawned area with seaside planting circles the right of the house and round the back. Up the steps to the left of the house and you find yourself in a lovely sheltered area, bordered by palm trees and containing the swimming pool.  This is heated and surrounded by paved area perfect for sunbathing. Behind the swimming pool is a raised decked area and a pretty summer house. The rest of the substantial garden is laid to lawn, perfect for outside games!

Also to the left of the house is a smaller lawned area, this is where you will find the gate that leads on to the path to the dunes and beach beyond. There is also an outdoor shower here for rinsing off sandy toes before you even get into the house.

The substantial decked area, with large table and benches, to the rear of the property leading out from the dining area and kitchen but also accessible from the garden, is ideal for Al fresco dining and relaxing. It  is completely secure for little ones and dogs.

  • Nearby

Treyarnon’s amazing beach is right on your doorstep. Only a few minutes’ walk will take you down the path and onto the beach. You can enjoy its large sweep of sand, wonderful rocks for climbing and pooling, or unbeatable headland walking both north and south. There is also Treyarnon’s natural swimming pool carved into the rocks – it can be found on the far side of the bay below the headland. Surfing is also good at Treyarnon – getting plenty of waves, but a little more manageable than some of the more exposed beaches. Mid to high tide is best. Lifeguards are in place at Treyarnon, May through September. This side of the beach is special – no through road for cars and no general parking – meaning that it is quiet and safe.

For a change, you can walk to Constantine Bay across the flat and easy headland in less than 10 minutes. It’s fine even for children in pushchairs once you are across the beach – and even if carrying your beach gear and picnic!

The coastal footpath is very easily accessible. Just take the path along the headland as you head down to the beach, past banks of wild flowers and garlic. The headland above the beach is very lovely and comfortable to lie back and relax for a while, or to look down on Treyarnon Island. Walking on towards Porthcothan is beautiful and dramatic.

For local shopping, Treyarnon Bay Stores in the beach car park can be very useful. For all manner of provisions and essentials, as well as your daily milk, bread and newspaper, it’s perfect. For a larger choice, you can walk to Constantine Bay Stores in about 15 minutes. Here you will find a range of quality food that may allow you to really avoid driving all week. Next door is Des’ surf shop for all manner of surf gear, to buy or rent.

Locally, the Youth Hostel across the beach is open to non-residents at different times of the day – for drinks, coffee and snacks and “Coastal Coffee” a food trailer on the beach car park offers good take away food in season.

Stayed: 12th Jul 2023

We have just had the most lovely holiday at The Beach House. The weather was the only stumbling block! Still plenty of time going out and about.
We loved the house and having the swimming pool helped with the children.

Stayed: 5th Jul 2023

Gorgeous house – I would love to book again for next year!

We loved our stay, wouldn’t change a thing!

Stayed: 17th Oct 2021

We loved the house. Lots of care has clearly been taken into making it family friendly. Our only negative is the inside flower bed – we had to make a barricade to keep our dog out of it! 🙂

Stayed: 22nd Sep 2021

We had a wonderful week at The Beach House. It was so well equipped and the bathrooms especially were fantastic. We did however prefer St Petroc, more comfy and homely. However we would definitely recommend The Beach House, especially to families with children.

Stayed: 5th May 2021

The house is beautiful and extremely well equipped.  We loved it and certainly want to come back.
