Atmosphere

Perched above the golden sands of Treyarnon Bay, Trevellan is a stunning five-bedroom retreat and embodies effortless Scandi style with a soothing palette of limed oak and neutral tones. Designed to sleep up to 14 guests, it’s the perfect escape for families and friends looking for ocean views, stylish interiors, and space to unwind. With the beach just a short stroll away, endless coastal adventures await, before returning to your private retreat for evenings by the fire or under the stars.

Living, cooking and dining

The two sitting rooms offer distinct spaces to relax. The first, a breathtaking lounge with a vaulted ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows, draws the outside in. A ceiling-hung woodburner creates a striking centrepiece, offering warmth and ambience as you sink into the sofa and watch waves crash on the shore. Step onto the balcony to feel the sea breeze, morning coffee in hand, or toast the day’s adventures with a glass of something special as the sky turns pink.

The second sitting room is a cosy haven designed for effortless holiday downtime. A vast, soft corner sofa invites everyone to sprawl out in comfort, whether for an afternoon nap, a family board game, or a film night. With a large TV offering Sky Sports and a full range of movies, it’s the ultimate space for both thrilling match days and laid-back evenings. Floor-to-ceiling doors open onto a private terrace, where you can step outside to enjoy a peaceful morning with a book, sip a sundowner, or simply soak in the fresh sea air. Whether you're curling up for a family film night or gathering for a relaxed evening, this is a wonderful space to spend time together.

At the heart of Trevellan is a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area, where navy-blue cabinetry contrasts beautifully with sleek surfaces. This is a space made for holiday gatherings—brew fresh coffee as the morning light floods in, prepare beach picnics to take down to the sand, or come together in the evening to cook up a Cornish feast with the catch of the day. The dining table, perfectly positioned for sea views, invites long, lazy suppers as the sun sinks beyond the horizon.

For a more intimate and sophisticated dining experience, Trevellan also offers a separate grown-up dining room, designed for leisurely dinners and special occasions. A striking glass-topped dining table takes centre stage while French doors frame stunning ocean views, creating a truly memorable backdrop for celebratory feasts or more relaxed evenings. Whether hosting a formal dinner party or simply enjoying a quiet, refined meal away from the bustle of the main living space, this elegant room provides a peaceful and atmospheric retreat.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The five beautifully designed bedrooms offer a restful retreat after long days by the sea. The master suite is a sanctuary of calm, featuring a super king bed positioned to take in breathtaking sea views. Decorated in soft neutral tones, with an elegant oak ceiling adding warmth and character, it’s a space to wake gently with the sound of the waves. The ensuite bathroom is equally luxurious, offering both a deep bath and a walk-in shower, with a Velux window above flooding the space with natural light.

Two further bedrooms upstairs also boast their own ensuite shower rooms, offering privacy and comfort for guests.

Heading downstairs, a spacious super king bedroom with white-washed wooden furniture creates a relaxed, coastal feel. French doors open onto one of the many terraces, offering the perfect spot for that first coffee of the morning.

The final bedroom is designed with families in mind, featuring twin beds and two sets of bunks—a dream space for younger guests to share late-night whispers and seaside adventures together.

Downstairs, a spacious family shower room features a large walk-in shower with a waterfall showerhead—perfect for washing off sandy toes after a day at the beach. A handy cloakroom on this level ensures extra convenience.

On the lower ground floor, a further family bathroom provides a bath with an overhead shower, basin, and loo, ideal for younger guests who love a soak at the end of the day. This floor also includes an additional separate cloakroom, plus a further shower room—perfect for rinsing off after a dip in the sea.

Facilities

This house is designed not only for style but also for practicality, ensuring a relaxed and easy holiday experience. The tiled utility room is a handy space for drying off sandy dogs, storing beach gear, or tackling post-adventure laundry. Here, you’ll also find a microwave and a large American-style fridge freezer, providing plenty of space for all your holiday essentials.

The house is centrally heated throughout, keeping things cosy whatever the season, with underfloor heating adding an extra touch of warmth on the lower ground floor.

For those arriving by car, there is private parking for three to four vehicles, so you can come and go with ease as you explore this wonderful stretch of the North Cornwall coast.

Outside

Trevellan’s beautifully designed multi-level garden makes the most of its stunning coastal setting, with a series of terraces that allow you to follow the sun throughout the day. Whether you’re enjoying morning coffee on a secluded terrace, stretching out with a book in the afternoon warmth, or sipping a sundowner as the sky turns golden, there’s always a perfect spot to relax.

For those who love alfresco dining, a gas barbecue ensures effortless outdoor cooking, whether it’s fresh seafood grilled to perfection or a simple family feast enjoyed under the open sky. With sweeping sea views, fresh salty air, and the sound of waves in the distance, Trevellan’s garden offers the ultimate backdrop for long, lazy holiday days.

A dedicated outdoor shower is a welcome addition for washing off wetsuits, muddy dogs, and sandy children before stepping inside.

Nearby

Treyarnon’s popular beach is right below the house. A stile and gate at the bottom of the garden provides easy access to one of Cornwall's most attractive surfing beaches - lifeguards are on duty during the summer months. Only a minute’s walk will take you down the well-worn path onto the beach. You can enjoy its large sweep of sand, wonderful rocks for climbing and pooling, or unbeatable headland walking both north and south. There is also Treyarnon’s natural swimming pool carved into the rocks – it can be found on the far side of the bay below the headland. Surfing is also good at Treyarnon – receiving plenty of waves, but a little more manageable than some of the most exposed beaches. Mid to high tide is best. Lifeguards are in place at Treyarnon, May through September. The Trethias (south) side of the beach is special – no through road for cars and no general parking – meaning that it is both quiet and safe.
For a change, you can walk to Constantine Bay in less than 10 minutes across the flat and easy headland over the far side of the beach. It's fine even for children in pushchairs once you are across the beach – and even if carrying your beach gear and picnic!
Walking is easily accessible. Just take the path along the headland as you head down to the beach, past banks of wild flowers and garlic. The headland above the beach is very lovely and comfortable to lie back and relax for a while, or to look down on Trethias Island. Walking on towards Porthcothan is beautiful and dramatic.

For local shopping, Treyarnon Bay Stores in the beach car park can be very useful. For all manner of provisions and essentials, as well as your daily milk, bread and newspaper, it’s perfect. For a larger choice, you can walk to Constantine Bay Stores in about 15 minutes. Here you will find a range of quality food that may allow you to really avoid driving all week. Next door is Des’ surf shop for all manner of surf gear, to buy or rent.

Locally, the Youth Hostel across the beach is open to non-residents at different times of the day – for drinks, coffee and snacks. It is open to non residents at different times of the day – for drinks, coffee and snacks. It has improved its range, and really is pretty good now for a light lunch or evening drinks in a fantastic setting and with wonderful views. Beach barbecues are also a regular feature of warm evenings at Treyarnon. Enjoy!

We had a great holiday at Windrushes, it was a great location, close to the beach with great views. The house was wonderful, well kitted out, spacious, comfortable with good parking. It was quiet location, with good walking available too. The little shop at the car park across the bay was ideal for milk, & bread and what fantastic Victoria Sponge cakes! The body boards & buckets & crab nets in the utility room were a welcome surprise. I would recommend this house & Raintree to my friends and will be using this again at some point in the future.
