The Property

  • Atmosphere

The unique location of Treyarnon Point really sets the property apart. It is positioned on the headland between Treyarnon and Constantine Bay, dominating the skyline from either direction. The plot is large with plenty of space outside for games and activities but it still has a sense of privacy. The house itself is full of character and a wonderfully atmospheric place to stay. Redecoration has retained Treyarnon Point's unique feel while ensuring that your stay will be comfortable and easy.

The house itself has large proportions, with all the rooms being spacious and the kind of layout loved by children and adults alike. There is plenty of living space, ensuring that 2 or 3 families can enjoy both their time together and some quieter time apart, all with the most fantastic Atlantic backdrop at your doorstep.

  • Sleeping

The bedrooms at Treyarnon Point lie over 2 floors. From the original tiled hall, the stairs rise to the polished wooden floorboards of the 1st floor landing. Oak banisters and a dark mahogany wardrobe and chest of drawers dominate the landing off which each of the four 1st floor bedrooms can be found.

The 2 King rooms are spacious and elegant both with 4 poster antique King-sized beds. The master bedroom enjoys dual-aspect views over Treyarnon and Constantine Bay with windows facing the sea the full length of the room. It has an ensuite bathroom with bath, overhead shower and shower screen, loo and basin. A plaque on the window sill may understate the quality of the 'view from the loo'!

Next door, and around a slight corner on the landing, can be found the 2nd King bedroom. Its views slant out to the North and provide amazing views down the length of the beach at Constantine bay and towards Booby's bay. Again antique mahogany furniture abounds. A small ensuite provides a shower, loo and basin.

Two more bedrooms can be found on the 1st floor. At the top of the stairs, to the right, is the Super King (can be made up as twin on request) which also features a Single pull out bed (again request if needed). A large room with dark blue curtains and a door through to a spacious shower room next door which can also be accessed from the landing and be used as a family bathroom.

The 2nd twin is on the left off the landing. It is simply furnished, but provides plenty of space for two. If you look hard enough you may find the secret door into the master bedroom next door. The views of course are wonderful towards Treyarnon.

A winding staircase leads up to the 2nd floor. Ahead is another shower room with loo, basin & shower and to the right is the 5th bedroom with 2 single beds. Next door is the 6th and final recent edition to the house - the new attic bedroom featuring 4 singles with ensuite shower room, it provides a perfect dorm room for children to share together and benefits from memorable sea views.

  • Bathrooms

Treyarnon Point provides 6 showers and 2 baths to ensure all can stay fresh. 3 showers are found on the 1st floor: over the bath in the main bathroom ensuite off the master bedroom; in the 2nd double ensuite and in the family shower room over the bath. This final family bathroom can be conveniently  accessed both from the landing and from one of the twin rooms. On the 2nd floor a small shower room can also be found off the twin room with a further en suite shower room attached to the new Quad attic room.

The 6th shower is downstairs by the back door and is perfect for showering off the sand after a day on the beach.

  • Living

The living space at Treyarnon Point is large, flexible and fun. The large hall is the main thoroughfare for people going in all directions. There is plenty of space to get away for a quiet time, as well as ensure that children can have their own play areas - for everyone's benefit!

The main living and dining room runs the full length of the front of the house. Various sofas and armchairs provide ample comfy seating, while the window seats are perfect for reading with a view. The main TV is here, along with a Wii and DVD/Blu-ray player for when the weather is bad (bring your own disks and games!). The oil central heating ensures a cosy stay in all conditions and there is a small coal effect electric fire in the sitting room. The far end of the living room is reserved for dining with a large oak table. There is also a piano.

A 2nd sitting room is located off the hall. A haven for quiet or the children's domain - you decide. A 2nd TV with VCR and DVD player is here, as well as a comfortable sofa and a couple of easy chairs. The old 'range' provides plenty of character.

  • Kitchen and Dining

There is plenty of room to cook and prepare food for your guests. The kitchen area is split into the kitchen itself and the large breakfast room alongside. The breakfast room for many may be the hub of the house: polished quarry tiles on the floor, stripped pine dresser and cupboards, a 'sheila maid' for drying your clothes over the Rayburn, and a farmhouse kitchen table in the centre of the room - all make for a great atmosphere and a very attractive room.

For cooking proper, the kitchen is situated off the breakfast room with plenty of space in its own right. An AEG electric hob and oven provide the mainstay of your cooking alongside the Rayburn. There is plenty of cupboard and work surface space, shaker-style cream doors and dark grey worktop. Twin sinks, a Bosch dishwasher and views from the windows make washing up almost a pleasure. There are a regular sized, under counter fridge and freezer in the kitchen and also a large American style fridge freezer so plenty of space for your shopping. Off the kitchen, there is a very useful utility room - here you can find the Bosch washing machine and Hoover condensing tumble dryer, as well as an external door out to the back garden and rear of the house.

The utility room runs round again to the hall, and also houses the downstairs loo and shower. This is situated right by the other external door, providing access to the rear garden - a sheltered and private sun-trap.

  • Facilities

The house is heated by full oil central heating - with a new boiler ensuring plenty of hot water, warmth and water pressure throughout. It has wireless broadband and a telephone provided. There is a washing machine, tumble-dryer and dishwasher in the kitchen. There are 4 TVs, Blu-Ray player, 3 DVDs, VCR and a Wii console (please bring your own Wii games). Sky Freeview is provided and can be watched in the kitchen through a D-Link connector. There is a fitted stair-gate at the bottom of the stairs, as well as a travel cot and high chair available in the house (please reserve with us if needed).

Outside

The front garden is large, laid to lawn with ample space for football, cricket, golf practice (with care!), and loads of space to run about. It is protected by a wall and tamarisk hedge and is largely private. A large gate leads out to the coast path. The garden continues round the side of the house to the back, where there is ample parking on the grass for 4 cars or more.

The smaller back garden can be accessed from the back of the house or through a gate around the side of the house. Here you can enjoy complete privacy and shelter if it is windy. This small garden has a lovely terraced area and when sunny it is great for relaxing or cooking and eating alfresco.

Please note that car access to Treyarnon Point is via Treyarnon Bay - to the beach car park, on past the Youth Hostel, round to the right, but then straight ahead onto a stony track where the road goes sharp right. Continue up the rocky lane, round left at the top, and Treyarnon Point can be found on the right before you reach the sea!

Nearby

Treyarnon Point is located in the most dramatic position between Constantine and Treyarnon within easy walking distance of both and not far from others beyond. To Treyarnon, you can walk gently downhill across the flat headland, past the natural swimming pool in the rocks, to the beach. Or going North, just walk out of the front of the garden, and then round the front to Constantine Bay. Access to both beaches is easy.

Walks are great in both directions – across Constantine to Booby's, around Trevose Head, to Mother Ivey’s and back. Or head south to Treyarnon, Fox and Pepper Cove, wonderful Porthcothan and beyond. If you can bring bikes, there is great potential to bike around - for both children and parents.

Trevose Golf Club is nearby with the club house a 10 minute walk or short drive away.

For local shopping, Treyarnon Bay Stores in the beach car park can be very useful. For all manner of provisions and essentials, as well as your daily milk, bread and newspaper, it’s perfect. For a larger choice, you can walk to Constantine Bay Stores in about 15 minutes. Here you will find a range of quality food that may allow you to really avoid driving all week. Next door is Des’ surf shop for all manner of surf gear, to buy or rent.

Padstow is close, for fun shopping, art galleries and all manner of dining and food. Here you can also catch the ferry across to Rock and Polzeath or just take a boat trip. However, you may find that with so much to do, all within walking distance, you may decide to just stay very local to Treyarnon Point.

NB We have included a handful of historical photos of Treyarnon Point on this site - if you would like to see a few more, please look here.

Just to say a big thank you to you and all at Raintree.

We had a wonderful week at Treyarnon Point. The house was immaculate when we arrived, and I hope we left it the same way!

We had rain, sun, gales galore and we loved every minute. The kids even went swimming without wet suits (mad!!),  In fact everything was perfect.

We all look forward to coming back again next year if possible.

Thanks again and I wish you and all the team a very happy and successful summer.

Dear all at Raintree House Holidays

Thank you so much another wonderful holiday at Treyarnon Point.  We thoroughly enjoyed going in June, with the most perfect weather and almost empty beaches.  The new windows at the front of the house were a huge improvement and much appreciated.

Stayed: 21st May 2023

We had a great week at Treyarnon Point. Perfect position especially with young children. The house had everything we needed, great views and good draft free windows. Very comfortable beds and everywhere was very clean. The shower cubicle in the front bedroom was a little tight especially for someone over 6ft but not a problem as plenty others to choose from! Your service was excellent and any queries answered immediately. Hopefully we can take the same week next year which leads up to the May bank holiday.

Stayed: 24th Jul 2022

As always, we had a wonderful stay at Treyarnon Point, and we can’t think of anything that could improve our time there – it is all perfect.

Stayed: 25th Jul 2021

As always, it was the most wonderful holiday.  The addition of the new fridges/freezers was absolutely fantastic, as I have always had trouble storing food for 12 in the original fridge!  The new one is fantastic, and it is wonderful to have the additional worktop space in the kitchen too.

Stayed: 26th Jul 2020

As always, we absolutely loved the house, and had the most fantastic week.  We loved the improvement of the ground floor shower.

Stayed: 29th Dec 2019

We had an absolutely fabulous week at Treyarnon Point and would hope to visit again one day.
The house and location was beyond all our expectations – the stuff that I dream about! I just loved watching the waves roll in first thing in the morning with my PJs under my coat and wellies and a mug of hot tea!
We were blessed with beautiful weather that enabled us to really make the most of the amazing beach location despite it being January.

Stayed: 28th Jul 2019

Thank you for your email and thank you to all at Raintree for giving us such a fantastic holiday once again.  The house was wonderful as always, and we all particularly loved the additional paving in the back garden.  We had such fantastic weather this year, and it was great to be able to eat out in the more spacious paved area so much.

As always, the service was immaculate, and we loved the cake and tea that was left for us on our arrival!

Thank you again for a wonderful holiday and we very much look forward to our holiday next year.

Stayed: 3rd Jan 2019

Thank you for a fantastic few days at Treyarnon Point. Everything was as hoped or better. House was spotlessly clean, really appreciate the top quality bed lined and towels. Love the fact the house has not been “Putneyfied”! as well as the obvious superlatives of location etc.

Stayed: 27th Dec 2018

Yes thank you we had a lovely week at Treyarnon Point, a very different property to Trenouth and therefore a totally different experience but never the less we really appreciated the history associated with the property….. it was like stepping back in time.

We had a wonderful week at Treyarnon Point

Stayed: 29th Jul 2018

Everything at the house was perfect, and I can’t think of anything which would improve it. The cleaners were very friendly and helpful, especially on the last day when we hadn’t quite finished clearing out the kitchen when they arrived, so started on the  bedrooms to allow us to finish.  Thank you for providing such a wonderful house for us to stay in.

Stayed: 17th Jun 2018

We had a fabulous week and loved the personal touches, like the welcome cake, black-out blinds and very clear information prior to arrival. Many thanks!

Stayed: 13th Aug 2017

We had another great week at Treyarnon Point and would like to come again for the same week next year.

Stayed: 2nd Jul 2017

Thank you for your e-mail.   I want to tell you how tremendously impressed I was, with
the efficient way you dealt with my booking at Treyarnon Point earlier this month.   I’m
afraid I bothered you quite a bit during the weeks leading up to my holiday, but you were
incredibly patient with me and arranged everything just as I had requested:  I.e. The
lawn was beautifully mown for our games of croquet; there was masses of bedroom
cupboards etc. to house our clothes;  the barbecue was excellent and there were
plenty of tools ! ;  All my fears were totally unfounded and I had a wonderful week, with
my family, to celebrate my 85th birthday!
A bonus was that the window cleaner came at the beginning of the week, and cleaned
all the salt from the glass, which always makes such a difference with a house overlooking
the sea!
The interior of the house was unrecognisable from the days when we last rented it, in the
1960’s……….   It was beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished and the crowning
glory was the enormous number of bathrooms!   I would certainly like to rent it again
but I haven’t got my head around plans for next year yet!
If I am being excessively critical, I would like to stress that it would be a huge improvement
if it was possible to have a teak bench (or even two benches, considering the number of
people housed)  outside the house, facing the sea, so that everyone could easily sit there
and look at the lovely view or watch the croquet games on the lawn.   A large teak table
In the same position would be a huge benefit too….!    The picnic tables provided are
pretty impossible for elderly guests!   We were so lucky with the weather that we had
most meals outside, but slightly yearned for a bit of comfort!
While we were at the house, the Alarm man came on two occasions, as it was making a funny
noise, but he mended it satisfactorily in the end.
Finally, thank you all at Raintree for all the help you gave me.   We had a wonderful holiday
and I know who I’ll recommend to any friends seeking a well-run Agency for Cornish
Holiday Houses !!

Stayed: 11th Jun 2017

We had a lovely time at Treyarnon Point, the weather was fantastic. Everything in the house was clean and well presented, thank you all.
One small point…..i requested no cake, and there was a huge one left for us which was a shame to waste.

Stayed: 16th Apr 2017

Fantastic house, we wouldn’t change a thing!
