Dog ban relaxed on Cornwall’s beaches

Great news if you’re a dog owner!  Following a consultation with both residents and visitors, big changes to the current dog restrictions are set to be introduced on Cornwall’s beaches in time for this year. The aim is to simplify the rules across all the beaches where a dog ban is currently in place. The old rules were a mix of different times and dates, but the new rules are set to only enforce a ban from 1st July to 31st August, between 10am and 6pm daily.

On Blue Flag beaches, the rules will be a little tighter and in Raintree country, the only beach affected by this is Trevone. The current dog ban is due to change from no dogs on the beach at any time from Easter Sunday to 30th September, to a restriction that will apply from 15th May to 30th September and only apply between 10am and 6pm. So you can now enjoy that early morning or evening stroll on the beach with your pooch while you are holidaying in Trevone. All other beaches in the area have no restrictions and dogs are welcome all year round. As always, do make sure that your dog is kept under control and that any doggy deposits are picked up and binned so that everyone can continue to enjoy the area’s wonderful beaches.
