Dog friendly beaches – all through summer!

One of the few downsides to all that glorious sunshine (especially for dog owners!) is the annual arrival of beach restrictions. Across Cornwall, many beaches introduce seasonal dog bans, either throughout the summer months or during peak hours, typically between 8am and 6pm.
The good news? It’s far from the end of seaside adventures with your four-legged companion. There are still plenty of fantastic dog-friendly spots to explore, meaning you and your pup can enjoy the coast without breaking any rules!
Here are a couple of our favourite dog-friendly beaches, perfect for year-round adventures close to our houses
Harlyn Bay – A firm favourite for dog owners, thanks to its wide, gently sloping sands and sheltered feel. It’s a fantastic spot for a relaxed beach day, whether you’re playing fetch, paddling in the shallows, or simply soaking up the scenery. With its easy access and friendly atmosphere, it’s a great all-rounder for both dogs and their humans
Mawgan Porth Beach – A stunning stretch of sand that really comes into its own at low tide, offering plenty of space for dogs to roam and explore. It’s also ideally located along the coast path, making it a great stop on a scenic walk. Even better, you’re just a stone’s throw from some excellent spots to refuel, including the Merrymoor Inn, Honey Salt, and Catch
Constantine Bay – An expansive, sandy beach that feels wonderfully wild and open, giving you miles of shoreline to wander. The views here are truly special, with the dramatic coastline stretching out before you. Nestled just below the iconic Trevose Headland, it’s also worth heading up for breathtaking panoramic views on a clear day
Fistral Beach – Ever so slightly further afield, Fistral beach is a haven for surfers, but is also one of the few dog friendly beaches all year around. With plenty of restaurants overlooking the beach, and some epic sunsets if you stick around until the evening, it is not one to be missed!
Tregirls Beach – A bit more off the beaten track, Tregirls rewards the effort with a peaceful, unspoilt stretch of coastline. Backed by sand dunes and rolling countryside, it’s a brilliant spot for dogs to run free and explore. At low tide, the beach opens right out, connecting towards Padstow and offering even more space for long, scenic walks
