Perfectly located and fully modernised 4 bedroom chalet near Bettex in a largely private, quiet residential area on the hillside above Saint-Gervais-les-Bains in the Evasion/Mont Blanc ski area, with the lift pass covering Saint Gervais, Megeve, Les Contamines and Combloux.
The chalet sleeps 8 with 3 bathrooms and separate cloakroom, fantastic views, amazing walking from the door. Mont Blanc and the most fantastic Fiz and Aravis ranges dominate the views. Parking for 3-4 cars. You must have winter tyres or chains during the winter season.
Drive to Bettex main lifts and ski rental shops in 5 minutes, or catch the free bus in French school holidays in season, just 1-2 minute’s walk from the chalet. Saint Gervais town is 10 minutes drive and Megeve just 15 minutes away.
Starlink internet, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Everhot range cooker (like an aga, along with induction hobs), wood burner and Heat Pump/underfloor heating, fondue/raclette, beds made up with white cotton sheets & large fluffy white towels. Fully renovated during 2023

**NB The outside of the chalet and the steps/walls stil need to be completed during Spring 2024, but this shouldn’t affect your stay over the winter. Reductions of 10% applied throughout 2024 until this work is completed **

Winter tyres and/or snow chains are mandatory in the winter. Do be careful. The drive down to the garage can get slippy. Do ask if you are concerned before your departure, and we can give advice or check the latest situation. After heavy snowfalls, we can ask the local farmer to clear the drive, there is a motorised snow blower in the garage that we can talk you through using (no instructions on site), and there are varied shovels in the garage - just ask.

The chalet is in a quiet, and residential area below the Bettex mid-station, in a hamlet called La Cry. It is off the main road up to Bettex, in a cluster of 5 or 6 varied properties, many of which are lived in all year round.
There are a huge number of marked paths that can be taken from near the chalet - down to town, up to Bettex, across to St Nicholas, or across to Monts Rosset and on round the mountain towards Megeve. There is fantastic walking all round.
To drive up to the Bettex telcabine takes 5 minutes (or 30 minutes walk), and there is free parking there - get there early at busy times. The Sherpa local food store is just below the car park.
You can see webcams of much of the domain by searching for Saint Gervais Webcams - allowing you to see the situation up at Bettex, and dream of being there again soon! Do checkout the details of the Evasion/Mont Blanc ski area - its fantastic and huge.

Summers are fabulous too with Mont Blanc and mountain ranges dominating the view and hundreds of amazing walks to enjoy. Even autumn enjoys plenty of sunny days and walking is great.

The Mont Blanc tramway runs from Saint Gervais and takes you up high under Mont Blanc - an institution.

Saint Gervais town is a fantastic little town with great restaurants and plenty of interest, including a large indoor swimming pool and indoor ice rink. Its 10 minutes drive down the hill.
Megeve is flasher (and almost as close) - very smart with a larger range of shops and and luxury goods. Its barely any further away by car - about 15-20 minutes.
Chamonix is also close, just 25-30 minutes drive, or head through the Mont Blanc tunnel to Courmayeur.

Having a car is easiest. With a car Bettex lifts are a 5 minute drive away (free parking), while Saint Gervais town is 10 mins, and Megeve 15 mins.
Walking up to Bettex is 20-25 mins, and down to town probably 1 hour, but steep home!

There is a bus service running up the road, about 100m from the chalet. Search for Facilibus online for timetables - the route nearest the chalet is Route G, Champlong/La Cry to Bettex telecabine. It runs in French school holidays in the winter season (not all year round - do check) and interlinks with other buses to go down to town and around the area. There is an app, Pysae, that you can download for Android and Apple, allowing you to browse the different lines, the timetables, and also setup your favourite routes. Best of all, you can see the buses moving around, and time your departure/return to catch one! There are designated stops, but just flag the bus down. They are free.
There is also a large car park up at Bettex, so you can drive up and park there for free while skiing/walking. In busy weeks it can get packed, so best to get there early.

Nice chalet, large rooms, good bedding, practical organization, possibility of putting skis and sledges in the garage, small piece of garden for children to go sledding and snowmen, pleasant atmosphere, the shuttle stops on the road almost in front of the chalet so no need for a car to go skiing… perfect!
