Thalassa is a charming, quirky family home which has been cared for by the same family since it was built. It's simply furnished and provides a comfortable, characterful base from which to enjoy the beautiful surrounding area. It's only 5 minutes walk from the beach at Constantine Bay and a short easy stroll away from Trevose Golf Club. The house is decorated with an eclectic mixture of books, pictures, ornaments and games for all the family to enjoy. Positioned in a large grassy plot, with a sunny secluded patio and easy access to the beautiful nearby beach, Thalassa provides a great option for those looking for a private, good value and conveniently located beach house.
There are three bedrooms - one 6ft double bed in the master bedroom; a twin room with new wooden beds; and a full-size and comfortable bunk bed in the 3rd bedroom. There are also chests of drawers in each room, a large wardrobe in the double and hooks in the other two rooms. The double room benefits from pleasant views to the sea at Constantine.
There is one bathroom at Thalassa with a large cast iron bath with shower over, a loo and basin.
- Living and Dining
The L-shaped living room is cosy and comfortable. Whether coming together to watch TV or play games, there is plenty of room for 6. The dining area is round the corner, furnished with a good-sized dining table and deep blue painted chairs. A sideboard runs along side. At the far end of the dining area, an external door opens to the outside, providing access to a lovely grassed area where one can enjoy the sunset and views across Trevose Head to the sea.
There is also an open fire that can be used to keep the cottage cosy!
The kitchen is simple but works. There is a new electric cooker and plenty of work surface. There is a fridge with integrated freezer section, as well as a microwave. A small pantry is where you will find plates and bowls. The back door opens out from here.
Thalassa is heated using storage heaters. A washing machine is provided. An outdoor washing line allows washing to be dried as necessary. The sitting room is equipped with a flat screen TV and DVD.
**Please note - there is a £1 coin meter at Thalassa operating all electrics other than the storage heaters**
There is wireless broadband and a telephone at Thalassa - useful as mobile reception is patchy at best - normally necessary to walk out to the road.
The huge garden at Thalassa is a real feature of the property. It provides both privacy and plenty of room for fun. The store room (located at half-basement level) holds a hoard of garden furniture and games such as cricket and croquet.
Thalassa can be found on Sandy Common, a loop off the beach road at Constantine. The beach is 5 minutes walk down the lane and is fantastic, providing entertainment and relaxation for all. The sand dunes are fantastic for exploring, the surf is some of the best in the UK and is protected by lifeguards from May through to October. The beach is so huge that you can always find quiet and peace in even the busiest months. There are rock pools and climbing to be done, as well as exploring further afield to Booby’s Bay at the north end, and walking over the easy-to-cross headland to Treyarnon in the south.
Trevose Golf Course is also a short walk away – providing golf, tennis and swimming with a bar and restaurant open to all. The atmosphere is often conducive for an early evening drink – whether golf is your game or not. Half-way to the golf course, is the well-stocked Constantine Bay Stores. It provides a good and high quality range of food and provisions – allowing you to ‘stay put’ for much of your holiday if you wish. Des’ surf shop next door sells and rents boards and wetsuits – either by the day or for your week.
If you want to travel, there are further fantastic beaches in all directions – and Padstow is only 10 minutes drive away. Or catch a local bus, avoiding any parking concerns Padstow end!

The house and holiday were great and the support from your team was first class when we needed your help with a couple of issues. The house is comfy and has everything you need in it.

Holiday was wonderful – great weather, and the boys were delighted to have a cake again this year. Only request, from clutzy son, was to fix the squeak on the bathroom door!
Thank you for your feedback! I will ask the caretaker to fix the squeaky bathroom door.
