  • Atmosphere

Wispa is a large and smart house with some of the best views in Trevone. Well furnished throughout, with a huge open plan living area on the ground floor, six bedrooms and three bathrooms (two ensuite).  There is a safe, enclosed garden at the front and a quiet terrace at the back.

The house is arranged over three floors and is light and breezy with large french doors which open to the front and back. The stripped wood and stone floors, combined with good quality bathrooms and furnishings, make a stay at the house comfortable and relaxing with the wonderful panoramic sea views and huge skies visible from virtually every room in the house.

  • Sleeping

Wispa has three double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms and a further small bedroom, (ideal for a child) leading from the top floor double room. All double beds have new, top quality memory foam mattresses. The master bedroom on the first floor has a king bed and an ensuite shower room. There is a TV, wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Next door, a second double room with a 4ft 6in bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.

The views from both rooms are fantastic with a panoramic vista across the huge bay below.

Across the hall is a twin room furnished with white wicker wardrobe and chest of drawers.

There are three further bedrooms on the third floor. A double room, with 4ft 6in bed, an ensuite bathroom (large bath, no shower) with a small room accessed from the main bedroom - perfect for a child – and a neighbouring twin bedded room.

These rooms have amazing sea views.

  • Bathrooms

The bathrooms are smart and roomy, with large heated towel rails.

The main family bathroom is on the first floor. It has a large oval shaped bath and a separate good-sized shower cubicle fitted with a high quality Grohe shower mixer. It has slate floors with under-floor heating. Large wooden racked shelves provide excellent storage space.

Also on the first floor is the master bedroom ensuite with a shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin.

There is an ensuite bathroom on the top floor, quite large into the eaves, with a good sized bath tub, toilet, wash basin and wicker storage unit.

There is a cloakroom with toilet and wash basin on the ground floor.

  • Living and Dining

The main living areas are large and spacious. The kitchen flows on through to the living and dining areas and a second living area before the french doors which open to the decking and garden. The living room has two large leather sofas (one sofa bed for occasional use but not to be made up by Raintree) and a leather armchair, with a further two armchairs and stools normally positioned for guests to enjoy the sea view in the smaller sitting area beyond. The stripped pine flooring is made cosy with a number of good quality rugs.

There is a 55 inch Smart TV (enabled with Alexa controlled Amazon Music, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix), Wii player and a John Lewis radio and iPod dock. The dining table, located in the same open plan room, seats 11. The room has an electric fire – ideal for warming up the room quickly and giving a cosy feel on cooler nights.

The second sitting space, with large french doors opening onto decking, provides light and airy accommodation for guests to read, play games or simply enjoy the stunning views across the bay and coastal path. An ideal room, slightly away from the main living areas, for children to play.  On the decking, eight wooden high stools, two tables and a bench are provided for outdoor eating and drinking.

Overall, Wispa’s large open plan living areas provide plenty of comfortable living space for guests to relax in when recuperating from a day’s sightseeing or beach activities.

  • Kitchen

The spacious kitchen is well equipped and includes a breakfast table and four chairs. It has a tiled floor, plenty of storage space and a polished wood worktop.

A large range cooker with five gas burners and two electric ovens provides all the cooking power any chef may want. There is a double Belfast-style sink, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Double doors open out to the rear terrace where a kettle barbecue can be found.

  • Facilities

Wispa has full gas central heating and is a modern and well equipped property. There is fibre to the house wireless broadband, landline phone and two TVs. In the kitchen are washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, slow cooker, Krups coffee machine and microwave.

  • Outside

There are safe outside spaces at the front and back of Wispa. At the front, a secure gated lawned garden is accessed by steps from the decking area.  A rotary clothes line is installed here.

Wispa has two dedicated parking spaces and there is further roadside parking nearby.

  • Nearby

Trevone Bay Surf Store is right on the beach and offers surfboard, kayak, paddle board and wetsuit hire, as well as delicious ice creams and a good variety of beach goods and clothes. There is also a café here serving good coffee, cakes and light meals during the day and is also now open for dinner in the evenings and has a good reputation.
The village shop provides newspapers, fresh bread and pasties daily, throughout the main season. Padstow Farm Shop is also a short walk or drive on the coast path towards Padstow and supplies top quality meat and vegetables, amongst other goodies!
Explore the coast path in either direction - round the heading past Hawker's Cove to Padstow or south to Harlyn, Trevose Head and beyond. Dogs can run free on Rocky Beach (Newtrain Bay), where there is a natural swimming pool, all year round.  From mid May to end of September, dogs are only allowed on Trevone Beach before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. This sandy beach is suitable for whichever activities take your fancy - sunbathing, surfing, swimming, rock-pooling, beach games - or just some horizontal downtime soaking up the sun.

We had a brilliant time and were incredibly lucky with the weather!

We loved staying at Wispa.  It suited all our needs perfectly.  We hadn’t been to Trevone before but have now fallen in love with it!  I think the only criticism is that the top twin room is very small with no hanging space.  It also has no mirror which would be handy.

Stayed: 20th Oct 2023

Yes we would like to rebook for next year please from Friday 18th October but would like the two extra days if that is at all possible made a massive difference to our journey home ?
We had a great time again and wouldn’t book with anyone  else we appreciate how professional and helpful you are at Raintree and your
Housekeeping staff so thank you.

We had an amazing time at Wispa, we were very surprised by the size of the house – the photo’s don’t do it justice! Very comfortable for 11 adults. We found it very well equipped – the only extra thing would be more bin bags, extra toilet rolls and baking trays.
The location was also excellent; brilliant for coastal walking and the beach and close to Padstow.
We really hope to be back soon! Maybe even for New Year again! Thanks again 🙂

Raintree Says:

Thank you for your feedback regarding the toilet rolls and bin bags. Raintree provide enough of these to get you started then expect guests to provide their own from then on. Thank you for letting us know about the baking trays, we have provided some new ones to the house following your stay.

Stayed: 22nd Jun 2018

We had a really enjoyable holiday at Wispa which suited our 3 generation family with assorted partners  perfectly. We have never stayed in a house so well equipped for children. Our two youngest members (4) & (2) spent many happy hours playing with the array of toys. The layout of the house worked really well with the open plan but sectioned rooms downstairs giving us the chance to be all together or in different groups as required. Wispa’s owners seemed to have thought of everything we could need to cook for a quantity of people.

The lovely views over the bay especially the sunsets were something special. We were really lucky with the weather this year and apart from one rainy morning it was wall to wall sunshine & beach, beach, and more beach. We have been coming to North Cornwall (mainly Trevone)  for over 40 years and have stayed in many houses in the bay and Wispa was a very good choice for this years holiday.

We had a great holiday in this lovely, well kept house.

Stayed: 7th Jul 2017

We had another great week at Wispa/Trevone, and the weather was pretty kind to us. I expect we’ll be looking to come back next year, but as it’s quite a large group we won’t be able to organise ourselves to book for a while, but I’m sure we’ll be in touch.
