The Property

  • Atmosphere

Trenevek is the dominant house overlooking Treyarnon Bay, with fantastic location, views and internal space. It is modern and well presented throughout with huge reception rooms, kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and a top floor games room. The kitchen/dining room is located at the rear of the property, providing a private and calm space away from the excitement of the beach front. There are many areas to relax for adults and children alike; the top floor room may be the preserve of the children and young at heart, with its amazing roof terrace, right over the beach. On the first floor there is a galleried viewing area, with a huge curved sofa and some of the best views in Cornwall. At the front of the house, there are  enormous windows in the comfortable sitting room.

Trenevek is a unique house, both in position and design. Its imposing staircase and galleried 1st floor set the tone for an amazing holiday experience.

  • Sleeping

Trenevek’s 2 main bedrooms benefit from large ensuite shower rooms and their own balconies with fantastic views across Treyarnon Bay. The master bedroom on the 1st floor is a very large room with a very comfortable super-king bed. It has a fabulous ensuite bathroom – very luxurious. With the balcony and views, this is a very special room.

Across the galleried landing of the 1st floor, is the 2nd bedroom, again with balcony and gorgeous ensuite shower room. Here the beds are made up as a super-king - but if you wish, you can request a pair of twin beds instead. Also on the 1st floor are the 3rd and 4th bedrooms – each are good sized twin rooms, with comfortable beds and views out over the rear garden. One of these has zip and link beds that can be made up as a 3rd super-king on request, and now also has its own fantastic ensuite shower room. Finally, downstairs, can be found the fifth bedroom with views out to the front of the house and a pair of single beds.

  • Bathrooms

There are five bathrooms at Trenevek, in keeping with a house of this size and style. The bathrooms have all been fully refurbished in 2017, with high quality fixtures and fittings.

The main bathroom can be found on the 1st floor – a large room with bath and shower over with a fixed folding shower screen. There is also a loo and a basin in a fitted vanity cabinet and white tiled floor.

All three ensuites are good sized, with large rectangular shower cubicles, loo, basin and heated towel rails. Downstairs on the ground floor, there is also a shower/cloakroom – very useful for coming in off the beach. Finally, off the games room on the 2nd floor, there is also a cloakroom.

  • Living

There is plenty of living space at Trenevek. When you arrive you are greeted with an impressive vaulted hall and wooden sweeping stairs extending up to the galleried 1st floor. A glass chandelier serves to reflect and distribute the amazing light from the sea and shore. The main sitting room is vast – with large inglenook at one end, and wide French doors at the other. There is plenty of room for your whole party to relax here.

Next door in the kitchen/dining room there is also a seated area. While upstairs on the 2nd floor, the full length of the house is given over to a games room. It is equipped with full sized pool table, table football, large suede sofas and a wall mounted flat screen TV here as well. This room leads out to a spectalcular balcony area with comfortable seating and far reaching views over Treyarnon Bay.

But your favourite place to relax may be on the galleried 1st floor, with wide glazing providing amazing views down over the beach, and a deep and comfortable curved sofa to recline on! Glorious. Or sunbathe on the roof terrace - with exterior bean bags and cushions and protected by a glass balustrade - its a great place to be.

  • Kitchen and Dining

The kitchen is very well equipped and presented – perfect for cooking large meals or preparing picnics for the beach. A crimson oil-fired Aga is centre stage, with an additional electric cooker with 4 burners and 2 ovens for the summer. Terracotta coloured tiles cover the floor, while the splashbacks and Aga back is decorated with small and colourful ceramic tiles.

There is an island in the centre of the room, sharing a black granite top with much of the work surface around the kitchen. It has its own small round integrated steel sink, while double Belfast-style sinks under the window to the back garden make washing up easy. Integrated appliances and a large American style fridge-freezer complete the atmosphere. There are bar stools also - perhaps to enjoy over breakfast - arranged around the pier unit that separates the kitchen proper from the dining and relaxing areas of this impressive room.

A long solid wood table runs along the sliding doors that open up the whole kitchen/dining area to the sheltered and covered terrace at the back. The table easily seats 10. Comfortable seating fills the rest of the room, allowing friends and family to provide helpful advice to the chefs!

There is a separate utility room, with double steel sinks and washing machine and tumble dryer appliances. Next door is a very useful larder, replete with stone cold shelf and plenty of storage.

  • Facilities

Trenevek enjoys full oil central heating  – cosy all year round. There is wireless broadband, and 2 large flat screen TVs.

As for games, a full-sized pool table and table football are provided in the top-floor games room. Well-behaved dogs are welcome and catered for! There is a dog bed for your use, as well as a medium sized dog crate and some ‘doggy’ towels – all to hopefully make your stay easier.

Outside

Trenevek enjoys a fantastic roof terrace high on the 2nd floor, with views right down over Treyarnon beach - its fantastic!

At the front of Trenevek there is a wide grass area, while the drive leads round the back to the private rear garden.

A well presented and flat grass area surrounds the lower-level covered terrace that runs the length of the back of the house. Here there is sturdy outside furniture and a charcoal BBQ. The garage can be used to store your beach gear or secure surfboards if felt necessary.

The borders are well stocked and attractive. There is plenty of parking for 3 or 4 cars on the private drive.

Nearby

One of Cornwall’s best beaches is yards from Trenevek. You can enjoy its large sweep of sand, wonderful rocks for climbing and pooling, or unbeatable headland walking both north and south. The beach can be accessed from the front of the house in under a minute – allowing you and your guests to take advantage of the beach when it is at its best. There is also Treyarnon’s natural swimming pool carved into the rocks – it can be found on Trenevek’s side of the bay below the headland. Surfing is also good at Treyarnon – receiving plenty of waves, but a little more manageable than some of the most exposed beaches. Mid to high tide is best. Lifeguards are in place at Treyarnon, May through September.

For a change, you can walk to Constantine Bay in less than 10 minutes across the flat and easy headland. Its fine even for children in pushchairs – and even if carrying your beach gear and picnic!

For local shopping, Treyarnon Bay Stores in the beach car park can be very useful. For all manner of provisions and essentials, as well as your daily milk, bread and newspaper, it’s perfect. For a larger choice, you can walk to Constantine Bay Stores in about 15 minutes. Here you will find a range of quality food that may allow you to really avoid driving all week. Next door is Des’ surf shop for all manner of surf gear, to buy or rent.

Locally, the Youth Hostel past the beach on the right is open to non residents at different times of the day – for drinks, coffee and snacks. It has improved its range, and really is pretty good now for a light lunch or evening drinks in a fantastic setting and with wonderful views.

Beach barbecues are a regular feature of warm evenings at Treyarnon. Enjoy!

We had a lovely time and the house was superb for our needs. Lovely not to have to load up children and kit to drive to a beach

Stayed: 27th Jul 2023

Had a great time! We always love the views and location of Trenevek –  Hoping the weather is better next year 😉

Stayed: 20th Jul 2023

We had a wonderful stay in that beautiful house. The whole family loved it and we were so sad to leave. Only a very small problem with garage access sorted out for us immediately. The staff are amazing and so friendly. Nothing could have been better even the weather didn’t spoil a thing.
Thank you ,thank you, thank you.
Would recommend to anyone

We had a fantastic week at Trenevek. It’s a great house with everything we needed and so close to the beach in a beautiful location – perfect for us all to come and go from the beach as we wished. We’ll certainly book it again if possible.

Stayed: 4th Jul 2019

We had a wonderful week in Trevenek this July.  The sun shone and we walked onto Treyarnon and Constatine Bay everyday so we had no need of our cars at all.   We enjoyed suppers on the beach or on the roof terrace watching the sunset.

Stayed: 27th Jun 2019

A well thought out house making a stay with different generations a real pleasure. Thank you to the caretaker.

Stayed: 18th Aug 2018

The house is wonderful and we had a fantastic week. BRILLIANT for dogs and dog towels are so generous.

Stayed: 17th May 2018

The new additions to the house are fantastic. We were very fortunate with the weather and made a lot of use of the terrace.
Only improvements we could suggest are very minor. Such as a small fridge on the top floor and a large soft broom for the downstairs.

Raintree Says:

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you had a good stay.

Regarding your suggestions, we have managed to put in a large soft broom for the downstairs, and will be talking to the owners about getting a small fridge for the top floor during the autumn.

Stayed: 30th Dec 2016

We’ve had a fantastic time with all our children and grandchildren in one place, a rare treat.
