Pensile House Cottage Stayed: 24th Jun 2022

Can’t rate this property highly enough – this was our first trip to the Cotswolds and our first time using AirBnB – loved the area and plan to return and very happy with AirBnB service. We took our two small dogs so it was very important for us to have them safe. The garden is dog safe and they had lots of room to wonder about & relax. There are fantastic dog walks straight from the cottage or further afield if you want to drive. The whole area seems to be dog friendly which was wonderful – dogs welcome in all local pubs / cafes and shops. The cottage is lovely, it had everything we wanted – we ate in most of the time and we found the kitchen area to be well equipped. Remember to take all your basics with you including tea, coffee, sugar, salt / pepper etc. Someone else in a previous post made a comment about lack of storage space – have to say this didnt bother us, there seemed to be adequate room. The bedroom is relaxing and it was lovely and quiet with blackout blinds so nice and dark at night / dawn – the bed super comfortable (we both slept so well!) The shower over the bath was amazing! you are provided with two huge fluffy bath towels (thank you!) Internet connection was great, good mobile phone connection and a decent sized TV with lots of channels. The garden (besides being good for the dogs) is a sun magnet! We spent lots of afternoons out on the sun loungers enjoying the sun and the views across the valley. There is another holiday property next door but its well screened off and to be honest we didnt even really notice it the whole time we were there. The cottage feels very secluded even though there are other houses nearby. Someone made a comment in a previous post about being disturbed by the industrial estate below the cottage and it spoiling their view… there is an industrial estate in the valley below the cottage but we didnt find it noisy or disturbing, you can only really see it if you peer over the wall to physically look for it – why do that when the main view is so beautiful?! The town is literally a 5 min stroll down the lane, it has everything you could want for self catering and for those wanting to eat out. The shops are really nice and plenty of cafes to sit and have coffee – locals very friendly. For days out – there is so much to do and the bigger towns such as Cirencester & Stroud are wonderful. We were lucky to be in the area to go to some local farmers markets and they are well worth a visit! The smaller villages around are absolutely beautiful. Parking is fine by the way – I read a few negative comments and dont really understand why anyone had issues. We have a SUV size car and had no problems at all, didnt find it tight to park and could turn carefully in the road to drive down the lane so dont let previous negative comments put you off or worry you. The host Patrick is super friendly and on hand if you need him. All in all we loved the place and fully intend to book again and continue our exploration of this lovely area.
