What Our Guests Say

We are always receiving feedback from our guests – and spend much of our time reacting to comments made or problems found at the houses we manage. Most understand that in such wonderful but individual properties issues can occur. We always feel it is how we try to avoid these issues, and then how we react to minimise these problems, that really differentiates us.

And many of our guests agree.

We provide the housekeeping for all but 2 of our houses and are involved with managing and solving problems – we are much more in touch than most, and ensure problems are rectified as soon as possible. We think our guests notice the difference.

Below is a selection of feedback we have received from guests over the last few years. We hope they tell a story!

Trephyl – Jul – 23 –  I am emailing you to say how impressed I was by the Housekeeper letting me in at 3 pm. It made all the difference and I was very grateful, I also want to say how spic and span the house looked. So nice to meet them and they did do the most lovely clean so please thank them.  

Trelyn – Jul – 23 – Thank you for organising us and for all your helpful communication. We were relatively late with making our plans, but delighted how it turned out!

Booby’s Bay Cottage – Jul – 23 – Also wanted to say how lovely the housekeeping team were when they arrived at 10 yesterday. They were charming and patient as we gathered our last few things together! Thanks for everything. See you next year!

Highview – Jul – 23 – Our experience of using Raintree has been great. We look forward to booking with you again at some point in the future.

Tregarne – Jun – 23 – Can I mention that your cleaning team who we met at Highview and also Tregarne are amazing, the lady was very accommodating and helpful and the properties are very clean, please thanks them for me.

Ridgegrove – Jun – 23 – My kindest regards and many thanks for all your, as-always, kindly, professional and very personal service. Always much appreciated.

The Ridings – Jun – 23 – Thank you for all your help. It is always a pleasure to deal with you.

Lowena – Jun – 23 – We have just had another fabulous holiday with you at Lowena.  Thank you so much for the wonderful houses and they are always so clean and have everything you would need.

Trebriani – May – 23 –  Help with the early check in on the Saturday after our week in Bass Cottage finished on the Friday was so much appreciated and made the transfer run very smoothly for us. 

Penamont – May – 23 – Many thanks to Raintree for all the help and communication, the bookings and visits have all gone well. I particularly enjoy the pictures of the bays that you put up on Facebook at various times.

Bass Cottage – May – 23 –  The added bonus was the help we received, giving us early book in and a late check out. It made such a difference as we moved into Trebriani the following day and early access there solved a huge issue for us. It was very much appreciated. 

Tregarne – May – 23 – We very much appreciate the help given to us by all the team especially housekeeper Jo enabling us to get into the property a little earlier that the usual time. Also to Andie who sorted out a couple of small queries on the maintenance side.
We always find team members very helpful and courteous whenever we have had occasion to ring up and look forward to another love.y holiday at Tregarne in 2024!

Newlands – Mar – 23 – We had a wonderful time and the house was spotless and well equipped as usual and when we did call for assistance, it was dealt with very promptly. Great service all round.

Morvoren – Mar – 23 – Wonderful house and Raintree provided a very smooth booking – Thank you again.

Trebriani – Feb – 23 – I found Raintree staff to be very helpful and friendly during the whole booking process and always available via telephone or email.

Trenley – Jan – 23 –  The staff are ever helpful.

The Ridings – Dec – 22 – The service provided by yourselves was as always first class.

Newlands- Dec 2022 – We found Newlands spotlessly clean as usual with Raintree. The Christmas tree looked splendid, thank you for that. 

Herongate Oct 2022 – Due to family illness and having to change our booking I just want to thank the office team very very much as you are all so friendly and helpful.

Trebriani Sept 2022 – Raintree staff are a pleasure to deal with. And thank you for informing us of an earlier check in. 

Booby`s Bay Cottage – Sept 2022 – The house was spotlessly clean: thank you to the housekeeping team. Thank you as well for the prompt response to my report of the leaking pipe.

Booby`s Bay Cottage – Sept 2022 – We always find Raintree to be very efficient, helpful and responsive – thank you for that. 

Bass Cottage – Sept 2022 – We  thank the housekeeping team for organising a few maintenance issues, which we left a note on the dining room table and the same day two maintenance men came and carried out the works in super quick time and were very friendly, so thank you.

Thalassa – Aug 2022 – Never had a bad experience staying at a Raintree property. Service is fantastic.

Trephyl – Aug 2022 -We were impressed by the response from the fire company and man from raintree who came quickly, in regards to the fire alarm going off and making an ear-piercing regularity one morning. Apparently caused by a spider inside.

Sailaway – Aug 2022 – I will definitely use Raintree House Holidays again in the future and will recommend you to other friends. It has been a pleasure to rent a property through your company.

Trewarren – Aug 2022 – I find all the Raintree staff that I have spoken to friendly and helpful, thank you.

Aquataine Lodge – Aug 2022 – Many thanks- we love the house and location and think the service is very good, helpful and friendly!

Santa Marina – Aug 2022 – We have been with your company now for so many years and really appreciate the way you do business. We like it that you are a local company and not part of the national as we have poor service from them in other parts of the country. Your staff always pick up the phone and are so helpful. You also reply to emails promptly and are flexible.

High Tides – Aug 2022 – Thank you so much, you’ve all been wonderful to speak to and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect holiday.

Penpor – Aug 2022 – Loved your service as usual!

Trephyl – July 2022 – Thank you for your help and excellent service over the last 5 years we have booked with you. We will certainly recommend you to friends and family without reservation.

Lower Trelew – July 2022 – Booking through Raintree was easy and everyone very helpful.

Lowena – July 2022 – Thank you so much, we loved our holiday again this year at Lowena! It was a very lovely house to stay in and when there was a problem with the rubbish your team were very quick to deal with the issue.

Trenala – July 2022 – The housekeeping was brilliant,  met the housekeeper who was very charming and we have never stayed in such a clean house.

Highview – July 2022 – – In terms of feedback, for Raintree, we have been with you several times now and the service has always been great. This year was no exception. Always there to help and any queries were dealt with really quickly.

Santa Marina – July 2022 – – Very good communication when booking and friendly whenever I have had to phone. House was a lovely location and very clean. We appreciated the tea, milk and biscuits after a long way travelling down! We really enjoyed the holiday, thank you.

High Tides – July 2022 – We had a lovely week at High Tides – please thank the cleaners for doing a great job for our arrival.

Tamarisk – July 2022 – I did so enjoy our stay this year and would especially like to comment on the brilliant caretaker Andy who helped us with a couple of problems … and also the wonderful cleaner we saw briefly on arrival and departure. So friendly and eager to help, local knowledge and the like.

Trewarren – July 2022 – Many thanks for a most enjoyable stay. We were very impressed with the way you looked after us. Both cleaning ladies before & upon leaving were lovely as well. It is all a reflection on the efficient, professional & friendly manner in which you operate. If we had a holiday cottage we would certainly want you to manage same on our behalf.

Booby`s Bay Cottage – July 2022 – Hope you guys are all well in this incredibly busy time of year. We had the most amazing time in Booby’s Bay Cottage. Thank you so much for making it possible. You are always so lovely with every correspondence I have with your team, and your housekeeping team are so friendly too.

Spin – July 2022 – Great location and facilities. Really unique and beautiful with great access to beaches, views from the living room and kitchen. Amazing to be able to walk out across to the SW Coast path and onto the cliff tops or beaches. Great advice from the Raintree team for check in and directions. 

Stable Cottage – July 2022 – We had a lovely holiday, thank you and I have always found Raintree House to be very good at communicating and providing information.

Trewarren – June 2022 – We were very impressed with the way in which the holiday was coordinated and so easy to check in and out. Jo the housekeeping lady was brilliantly accommodating.

Trenley – June 2022 – All the admin leading up to our stay was both first class and very ‘kindly’ dealt with – thank you!  The house was beautifully clean and we felt at home and on holiday as soon as we walked through the door – thank you!

The Beach House – June 2022 – Nothing could have made it better, as we experienced last year the house was great and your service and communication was perfect – many thanks for contributing to a great family holiday at Treyarnon Bay

The Ridings – June 2022 – Thank you as always for all your help. It is always a pleasure to deal with you.

Apartment 5 Greenwaves – June 2022 – We found the apartment in good, clean order – many thanks. Hopefully your housecleaners found the apartment as they left it. Thanks also for the additions we suggested/requested following our visit last year.

Morvoren – June 2022 – Fully satisfied with the service and the house which we have visited many times in the past.

Newlands – June 2022 – Thank you for another fantastic stay at Newlands, the house is cleaned to a very high standard and very well equipped. The only thing missing really is coat hangers in the bedrooms, there were only 2 or 3 in each room. Raintree is a very good Company to do business with.

Beachcombers – May 2022 – We had another wonderful weeks stay at Beachcombers, when we arrived the house was extremely clean and well presented as the previous year. The builders were working directly behind the house but it did not cause us any problems.

Penamont – May 2022 – Raintree service is excellent, straightforward and easy to deal with.

Ridgegrove – May 2022 – We so enjoyed our stay at Ridgegrove. The house is so well equipped and particularly perfect for a young family like us. All the team at Raintree were also very helpful before, during and after our visit. Thank you.

t Sandt – April 2022 – We really loved ‘t Sandt – Thank you – another lovely holiday with Raintree (I think, as an extended family, this was our 6th year).

Church House – April 2022 – Excellent service from Raintree. Thank you. Weather was great too. Church House again absolutely up to expectations. 

San Marcos – April 2022 – Thanks for your email and we had a really lovely stay at San Marcos, it was just the break we needed after a difficult year. We have stayed in Raintree houses before and everything has always been excellent and seamless.

Highview – April 2022 – Absolutely brilliant house and location. We had a great time. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival which was much appreciated. 

Trenley – April 2022 – WE LOVED IT! Thank you to Trenley and Raintree team.

Thalassa – April 2022 – We had a lovely week –  another great raintree holiday!

High Tides – April 2022 – No issues with house…minor hiccup with high chair and stair gate very promptly resolved. It would be nice if all letting agencies were as efficient as Raintree

Aquataine Annexe – Mar-22 Thank you to both the admin and the housekeeping teams for such a prompt resolving of the forgotten logs. Really impressive.

Commons Meadow House – Dec-21 What could have made your holiday better this year? Nothing, it was perfect.

Treyarnon Point – Nov-21 Once again, I would like to thank all the staff at Raintree for their helpfulness and efficiency in making this a great holiday.

Herongate – Nov-21 Always enjoy dealing with Raintree and this year was no exception – friendly service and good comms

Blue Seas – May-21 Good service and all very efficient from Raintree too….Thank you!

Blue Seas- Aug-21  I would like to say how helpful the housekeeping team were sorting out extra duvets etc and responding very quickly.

Blue Seas- Aug-21 We had a really wonderful time. Raintree communications fabulous and Blue Seas a really lovely house.

Boobys Bay – May-21 – The service we receive from all Raintree staff is brilliant, unfortunately you’re not just round the corner anymore so I can’t pop in, as I always did, with a well deserved box of chocolates. Thank you so much to everyone.

Boobys bay – Feb-22 – We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Booby’s bay cottage. The connection with the staff before arrival was helpful and positive (small personal exchanges like wishing the dog and us a happy holiday were well received). 

Bosporthennis – Nov-12 – Thank you for your friendly hassle free service, a great company to deal with.

Brambles – May-21- We found the house very well prepared and we really appreciated getting in just after 4pm. I have separately thanked Jo Lee. If I was being really picky one of the gates was unusable and the garden table and chairs could do with a deep clean and stain and varnish. Your caretaker Phil Colwill visited promptly and cheerfully to refix the washing line and the other gate.

Gortheren – July-21 – The raintree service from the beginning right through to the holiday has been superb, All staff are very helpful and Accommodating. It was amazing to be allowed in to the house early at 5:00pm. Having a few household items in the house on arrival makes a huge difference and we are grateful for this thought.

Lowena – July 20 – We love staying in Cornwall and have always been very impressed with Raintree Housing – you are always so very helpful and all the important safety measures this year were put in place appropriately but without being heavy handed.

Morvoren- Sept-20 – You guys have been amazing. Responsive, helpful and professional

Parc Vean – Aug-20 – First I would like to thank you and all at Raintree for managing our holiday house so efficiently amidst all the ever changing requirements demanded by Covid-19. Your information has always been clear and comprehensive

Penpor – June-21 – Just a short message to say how impressed I have been with your service – consistently prompt, efficient and helpful. I only wish that more companies could match your standards. I would unhesitatingly recommend you to friends and would be very happy to use Raintree again.

Santa Marina – June 19 – Yet again, we had a wonderful stay at Santa Marina. The process for booking is so easy and the support we receive from Raintree whilst we are there is very professional and again, easy. The house has everything we want for our family break. We love it!! Thank you.

Santa Marina – July 20 – Thanks to everyone who made our holiday so enjoyable – especially even making sure ‘the left behind Peppa Pig’ was found. Beyond the call of duty there !

South Corner – Feb 19 – We were very pleased with your service and will certainly use your services again in the future.

South Corner – April 21 – The Raintree service was efficient and effective. The cleaning before we went in was 100% thorough. It’s a good system. The house was brilliant as always. Heaven. no negatives.

South Corner – June 21 – Raintree are great to liaise with too.

South Tamarisk – July 20 – Please thank your cleaning staff as we were able to get in really early last Thursday which was a huge help and for being patient this morning as we were a little behind!

Stable Cottage – Dec 20 – The service from Raintree House was excellent.

Sunset – Sept 2020 – I would like to say thanks very much for your incredibly swift action when the loo went out of action.  Rob Erskine was brilliant, coming so quickly and sorting it so quickly too. It was very impressive how you were on it immediately.

Sunset – Sept 2020 –  You made it very easy to book and sort everything out and we had a great time, all the local info and COVID info etc. was really thorough and good. 

The Beach House – Sept 21 – First of all thank you so much for your brilliant organisation at Raintree, you are so customer friendly and think of absolutely everything we might need. I wish lots of other firms were half as good as you. 

The Buck – Sept 19 – I have this morning taken a phone call from the guests who arrived at The Buck on Tuesday. They called in to say thank you to everyone for making the arrangements for their arrival at the house. It was so cosy and warm and clean, lovely that don’t have to worry about anything on their arrival and grateful for the milk./cake etc. They have stayed before and are constantly pleased with the level of standard provided by Raintree all round!

The Peak – May 21- Very happy with both house and service.

The Peak – June 21 – This was our third enjoyable stay at The Peak. Thank you to all in the Raintree team. Your communications throughout have been second to none and the house was spotless and very comfortable. This year, more than ever, your endeavors to make it all work are deeply appreciated.


Trebriani – Sep-20 – It was a pleasure to deal with all of your staff and we understand the need for the email f to check out our health status. They were always nicely stated in a friendly manner.

Trebriani – Apr-21 –  Thank you to all at Raintree for being such a lovely bunch to deal with when booking our holiday. You have had such a lot to deal with over the past year but you maintained an efficient and friendly service.  I look forward to booking with you again.

Trebriani – Sept 21 – Many thanks for supplying the highchair so quickly. It made such a difference to the comfort of our mealtimes. I was very impressed with your result.

Tremawr – Aug-20 – We absolutely LOVE the house and the service was fantastic-thank you so much for organising someone to collect and replace the gas canister almost immediately, that was amazing!! 

Trenala – Oct-20 – We had a lovely stay, thank you so much for a beautifully clean house.

Trenala – Apr-21 – We enjoyed our holiday and were happy with Trenala and also stayed there previously in 2019. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the house as left by your cleaning team.

Trenley – Dec-19 – As usual the standard from Raintree House was exceptional and Trenley is a lovely house. The only negative is that there wasn’t a hair dryer provided!


Trenley – Jul-20 – It was a fantastic holiday thank you. I know there is not much you can do about this but thought it worth mentioning in case Raintree Holidays thought it worth noting on the house notes that if guests prepare fresh fish and seafood (which is understandable since we are right next to the sea and it is delicious! ) that they ensure they dispose of fish skins and scales etc appropriately and are mindful of future guests. I don’t want this to come across as a complaint against Raintree Holidays though because our whole family think your service and attention to detail and care for your customers is absolutely FANTASTIC.

Trenley – Dec-20 – I would like to thank raintree, the cleaners and the owners (who left early so we could come). Who made our holiday even possible. The whole booking process, emails with info etc were well co-ordinated. The house was cleaned beautifully at the very last minute! And we were even left tea and cake. The owners were fantastic for giving up their holiday to ensure we could have ours. The house itself was absolutely perfect. Every facility was there and working. The kitchen was amazingly equipped. The tennis court was fun. It was like being to another world where covid did not exist. The views from the house itself and the cliff top walks to walking the dog over the beautiful sandy bay made it perfect. I wish it didn’t have to end and return to reality. What could have made your holiday better this year? Please let us know below. No one and nothing could have made our holiday any better, we are extremely grateful.

Trenley – Apr-21 – You were all really helpful and made it very easy. I have been many times to Trenley over the years as it’s owned by my distant family but it was easier booking it through you. Many thanks. It was clean and tidy. My sister has also booked through you in the past in Trevone and enjoyed it a lot. Thanks again!

Trenley – May-21 – We were delighted with our stay at Trenley last week. Everything was immaculately clean and the house very well maintained. We love it there so much and cant wait to return!

Trenley – Jul-21 – Dear Raintree, Thanks again for all your efficient and helpful organisation. Please can we just pass on two comments regarding the house. 1. The vacuum cleaner is really not good and when we came to use it found it pretty useless. 2. The fridge is on the small side for a party of 8 people for a week. Otherwise, we are so grateful for the opportunity to stay in such a special house and situation. With out thanks and best regards.

Trephyl – Jun-19 – Booking arrangements all went very smoothly. It feels reassuring to be dealing with agents who are so locally based. Suggestions for improvements – it would make a big difference to be able to get into the house at 4pm rather than 5pm, after a long journey.

Trephyl – Aug-19 – We returned home from Trephyl today, having had the most wonderful week. Thank you! We only discovered Raintree last year, but have been so impressed with your properties, their cleanliness and the service. We had a super time and enjoyed the space and views enormously. As I said in the earlier email, we hadn’t found Raintree until last year but are so glad we have. Holidaying time is tight as a family and knowing everything is going to be clean, well supplied and ready to go makes us relax from the moment we got there. The cake helps too and my husband and son certainly snaffled it out as soon as we arrived. The Sunday to Sunday changeover made for easy journeys and leaving at 11.30 was a treat too. Huge and grateful thanks.

Trephyl – Jul-21 – As for Raintree – having been on so many of Porthcothan house in the 36 years I have been coming I can assure you I know all about the cleaning and servicing of the houses! ANd what I am about to say is absolutely the truth. Your service is faultless except for our slight disagreement about the 7pm availability which you solved beautifully and I was also so please with our caretakers quick response to lack of hot water twice etc etc and the use of the deep freeze which we could not have done without.

Trevelyan – Apr-21 -. We have always been pleased with the quality of service provided by Raintree and appreciate the standard of communication throughout our bookings that we have made. We shall be in touch,

Trevethan House – May-19 – Great location, fabulous big house for a large family holiday. Beautiful views of the beach, well equipped kitchen. Difficult entrance into drive! Mobility issues for the less agile. Had a great time thank you for all your help. Raintree have done us proud again. Hope to see you in August

Treyarnon Point – Oct-21 – Firstly your company was so easy to contact, always friendly and helpful and quick to respond to any queries. As for Treyarnon Point what an incredible house and location. 

Tristan – Aug-21 – We had a fantastic holiday and thought that the accommodation and service from all the team at Raintree was excellent, no improvements required!

West Farthing – Oct-20 – We thought the house was great – very well-equipped and great set-up for our family. We loved it! Even with all the complications of this year Raintree have been so helpful and it has all been smooth running. Hopefully if we come back next year it will be a bit more normal for everyone.

White Walls – Jun-19 – I just wanted to say a massive thank you for the great standard of our accommodation. The information provided in the lead up to the trip was faultless. Everything at White Walls was as described and all our needs were catered for. Thank you again and we will definitely use Raintree in the future.
